The Grease prequel TV series, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, reveals a first look at the show's logo. Released in 1978, Paramount struck a high note with the adaptation of the Grease Broadway musical for the big screen. Starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, Grease - and the soundtrack album - became a global smash hit. In 2019, HBO announced it had ordered a live-action musical spinoff of Grease, titled Rydell High. However, Paramount reclaimed the Grease property and workshopped Rydell High into a series centered on the Pink Ladies. Recently, Paramount+ announced the full cast list for Rise of the Pink Ladies and offered a look at the new faces of Rydell High.

Now, Paramount+ has offered a first look at the official show logo for Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies. Set in 1954, four years before the events of Grease, Rise of the Pink Ladies is slated to debut exclusively on Paramount+ later in 2022. Per the streaming service, the prequel series is a "splashy musical prequel to the classic film - but updated for today with new music and choreography." Helmed by Anabel Oakes, Rise of the Pink Ladies will feature new, original music. Musical enthusiasts itching for a show featuring regular doses of song and dance should delight in a series set in the same universe as one of the most popular musicals of all time. At this time, it remains to be seen if original Grease actors will make a special appearance in the prequel series. For now, Grease fans can look forward to a fresh cast, new musical numbers, and the origin story of the Pink Ladies in the upcoming Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies.
