The automotive adventures of Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond continue in the season 3 trailer for their Amazon series, The Grand Tour. With the dust-up at the BBC that ultimately led to the trio taking their brand of car-centric shenanigans to the streaming service long since in the hosts’ rear view, the series’ global racing, crazy stunts, and outlandish challenges all feel right at home on Amazon, and should help shake certain viewers out of the winter doldrums come this January.
The new trailer begins with Hammond attempting to navigate a pickup truck across a rickety wooden bridge that’s hardly wider than the vehicle he’s driving, calling to mind one of the most thrilling episodes of Top Gear, when the hosts drove on Boliva’s famed Death Road. Hammond’s chances of surviving are pretty good, and as trailers go, it’s a great way to start advertise for the new season. Take a look at The Grand Tour season 3 trailer below:
“For season three, the trio have filmed around the world, causing more chaos than ever before as they travel through tricky terrains in Colombia, Mongolia, China, Detroit and…London’s Stansted Airport, while their giant studio tent remains back home in Jeremy’s garden in the Cotswolds.”
There’s more jokes and racing mischief than ever, it seems, as Clarkson, May, and Hammond blow up quite a lot of things, including a helicopter, and engage in some highly unusual and ill-advised behavior, like tempting fate in an electrical storm and running over a likeness of U2’s The Edge. In addition, season 3 continues to boast more of the series’ gorgeous cinematography, which, in addition to watching grown men race (and sometimes destroy) outrageously expensive cars, is reason enough to tune in.
The Grand Tour season 3 premieres Friday, January 18, 2019 on Amazon Prime Video.
