In a mysterious event, one Grand Theft Auto Online player exploring Los Santos has accidentally run into an odd glitch that spawned the Loch Ness Monster in the Diamond Casino's parking lot. Like its easter eggs, glitches are a memorable factor in the history of Rockstar Games and they became widely popularized with the studio's first groundbreaking sandbox title in the series, Grand Theft Auto III. While these bugs commonly give Grand Theft Auto titles a more comical aspect, some glitches have caused all types of problems for players, especially in Grand Theft Auto Online, ranging from unbeatable missions to the disappearance of valuable items.

Despite releasing nearly a decade ago, Rockstar's acclaimed open-world sandbox arguably continues to be the studio's biggest and most popular title to date. Though its base game hasn't been improved upon or revamped since its latest rerelease in 2014, the title's online multiplayer mode has received major expansions since 2015 that add new content and features, and they continue to expand the title way beyond its longevity. Due to its massive player base and continued financial success, Grand Theft Auto V is set to rerelease for a second time on current-gen consoles in March, almost a decade after its initial release. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S players will be able to experience the Expanded & Enhanced Edition of the title with improved visuals and gameplay enhancements, and many other new features that will keep the current-gen remaster distinctive from the versions seen before.

Shared on Reddit, user Herbzi_Leaf posted a screenshot of what appears to be the Loch Ness Monster in the parking lot of the Diamond Casino. While this is almost assuredly a glitch, the entire model of the monster can be seen floating out of place. The Loch Ness Monster easter egg was included in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of The Cayo Perico Heist update and can only be seen briefly during the heist's finale or while trying to escape via boat. In its intended setting, the sea monster's model is incredibly difficult to see in full, as when approached it will dive underwater quickly and can't be fully accessed unless the game is tinkered.

Released in 2020, The Cayo Perico Heist update is known as one of the biggest content expansions for Grand Theft Auto Online. In addition to the largest heist the title has seen, the update also added a brand new private island, bringing in a new map for players to explore and a wealth of features such as submarine HQs and the Music Locker nightclub to entertain and excite fans.

While it's funny to see, the Loch Ness Monster's idle model randomly spawning in Los Santos is likely a server glitch between the transition of the two maps. With Grand Theft Auto Online continuing to expand, more of these glitches are expected to pop up, so players can expect more random occurrences while exploring Los Santos.
