Grand Theft Auto is a game with incredible potential for creativity and can produce some truly wacky moments. One of these came thanks to a bit of trickery and modding, allowing for one of Grand Theft Auto V's protagonists to encounter his older self.

Grand Theft Auto V made history by becoming the first game in the series to feature not one, but three main point-of-view protagonists. Mike, Trevor, and Franklin each grew to have their own storylines within the game and their own unique fandoms. The game ended with players having to make a choice about each of the three character's fates, leaving the question of which of the ending was considered to be canon. The recent update to Grand Theft Auto Online brought back Franklin several years after where the GTA V story left off, letting players see what happened to him, his friend Lamar, and his beloved dog Chop. The return of Franklin also included content that seemed to indicate which of the GTA V endings was considered canon by Rockstar Games and brought back beloved features such as Lamar hilariously roasting Franklin. It seems that this pastime is not just reserved for Franklin's friends, however.

GTA player and YouTuber Killaz has shared a brand new video clip, which shows the older version of Franklin shown in GTA replacing Lamar in one of those famous roast sessions. It seems that Franklin managed to take a page out of Marty McFly's playbook and go back in time, just to dress down his younger self. While the insults are ones that Lamar would normally throw at Franklin, it's quite amusing to see Franklin mocking his younger self, as if he can't believe how he used to dress. It's unclear how Killaz managed to accomplish this feat, but it seems quite likely that mods were involved.

Modding is certainly quite prevalent among GTA players, bringing many creative additions to the world of San Andreas. While no mod has allowed Franklin to literally look into his future, one GTA mod did bring Batman into the game, allowing players to roam the open world as the Caped Crusader. Unfortunately, it does not appear that Batmobile was included in this mod, but it can be added in other ways.

The fact that a modder went to such trouble to change up the classic scene of Franklin getting roasted over a decade after the game first launched shows how fans were drawn to the characters of Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar has been tight-lipped about the prospects of the rumored GTA VI, but fans are hoping that it will be of the same quality and produce the same sort of iconic moments as did Grand Theft Auto V.
