Rapper Snoop Dogg recently claimed that fellow rapper and frequent collaborator Dr. Dre is making new music for an unreleased Grand Theft Auto title. The last installment in Rockstar Games' open-world crime series, Grand Theft Auto V, launched all the way back in 2013. With fans eagerly awaiting a brand-new GTA game, rumors about Grand Theft Auto 6 continue to become more and more common.

With Grand Theft Auto fans given plenty of time to think about the series' sixth entry, many ideas and rumors have surfaced in recent years. Modern technology, such as new-generation consoles, leads many gamers to believe that GTA6 will feature a truly massive open-world map. Some rumors claim that the game will take place in Vice City, the setting of the series' 2002 installment, which will be up to three times bigger than GTAV's San Andreas. Some extravagant rumors point towards even more exotic locations for GTA6, with an international setting recently suggested by a Rockstar Games job listing.

A report by Rolling Stone suggests that Dr. Dre, famous rapper and CEO of Beats Electronics, is creating new music for a future Grand Theft Auto title. The information comes from fellow rapper Snoop Dogg, a long-time friend of collaborator of Dre's, who claims that Dre has been in the studio working on new music for an upcoming GTA project. Dr. Dre and Snoop have both contributed songs to previous Grand Theft Auto games, including San Andreas and GTAV. Dr. Dre's last solo came with his 2015 album Compton, so word of new material being produced should be quite exciting for fans of the legendary rapper. Rolling Stone reportedly approached Rockstar Games for comment on the claims, but the developer declined to comment.

While many fans clamor for news about Grand Theft Auto 6, they will soon have the chance to experience older titles in the franchise on modern hardware. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition remasters will revitalize three classic installments in the franchise with updated graphics and controls. 2001's Grand Theft Auto III, 2002's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and 2004's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will all be included in the compilation, with all three games benefiting from enhanced lighting systems, upgraded character models, and more.

While Snoop Dogg may be a master of rap, he may not be a master of subtlety. The Dogg Father's comments linking Dr. Dre to Grand Theft Auto may be the first definitive hint that the sixth game in the series is under active development. However, it is also possible that Dr. Dre is simply working on new music to feature in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, especially considering that he and Snoop made songs for the original release of San Andreas. Whether or not Snoop just spilled the beans, fans will continue waiting for an official announcement of Grand Theft Auto 6.
