A leaker has revealed that a Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer most likely won't be happening until the end of the year or later. After the upcoming Grand Theft Auto title was officially confirmed to be in development by Rockstar Games in February of this year, fans were hoping that more information would be revealed soon. However, that does not seem to be the case.

Almost a decade has passed since Grand Theft Auto V, the seventh main installment of the GTA series was released, making this the longest gap between games thus far. GTA V provided GTA Online and the various expansions the game mode receives have allowed for the overall longevity of the GTA V while Rockstar Games focused on other successful projects. Still, players of the Grand Theft Auto titles have voiced their frustrations for years now, and rumors about GTA 6 have been widespread for just as long. While the development of the game has finally been confirmed, fans are still waiting for an official trailer or hint at a release date.

Unfortunately, players may not be receiving a trailer or a release date any time soon. A well-known leaker called AccountNGT responded to a question about GTA 6 on Twitter, saying "Don't expect any news before the end of the year." As reported by Dexerto, this insider has been responsible for supplying correct information about the GTA franchise in the past. The implication that news about the game will release at the end of this year fits with previous GTA 6 trailer release date rumors.

Previous leaks also suggest that GTA 6 will return the franchise back to the location of Vice City (from GTA: Vice City), but this has yet to be confirmed. Players have had almost an entire decade to speculate as well as note the issues with GTA V and how the upcoming game could address them, including the complexity of the story and lack of locations in the open world. Another criticism lies in the online multiplayer aspect of GTA V called GTA Online. While the online multiplayer mode is one of the reasons the game has maintained its success, fans believe that it could be improved in the newest game. Although no information regarding GTA 6 is confirmed, many have high hopes for the title.

As of right now the only Grand Theft Auto information that is confirmed besides the development of GTA 6 is enhanced versions of GTA V on next-gen consoles that will be released this month. Most agree that the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer will happen very late this year or as late as 2023. It seems that players will have to enjoy San Andreas just a little while longer.
