Even NBA players like Isaiah Thomas are sick of waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6 to be released. It's been nearly seven years since the last entry in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, and although players have been able to bide their time with the game's persistent online multiplayer mode Grand Theft Auto Online, as well as with developer Rockstar's other massively detailed title Red Dead Redemption 2, almost everyone is ready to jump in to a brand-new Grand Theft Auto-themed experience.

It's not as if Rockstar hasn't been doing their best to keep players entertained, however. Despite the lack of any single-player DLC for Grand Theft Auto V, they have continually supported Grand Theft Auto Online with constant updates including things like new weapons, vehicles, quests, and even environments, such as the recent addition of laser weapons and the opening of the Diamond Casino & Resort, which also includes a brand-new Diamond Heist mission players can participate in. Despite all of these additions, as well as the similar support Rockstar has been giving Red Dead Online, players are ready for more.

The anticipation surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6 has almost reached a fever pitch, and it's even begun to affect professional sports players. NBA All-Star Isaiah Thomas recently took to Twitter to express his disappointment at Grand Theft Auto 6's long development, and said that it would "Be dope if they dropped GTA6 now." Check out his message below:

Thomas isn't the only person who is awaiting some sort of news about Rockstar's next game, and many fans have been led astray by various Grand Theft Auto 6 rumors and alleged leaks which have surfaced in the recent months. Many players expected news of Grand Theft Auto 6 to be revealed back in March, but nothing official ever came. The amount of fake information which eager players were spreading even led to both the voice actors for Grand Theft Auto V's Michael De Santa and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' Carl Johnson to speak out against unconfirmed rumors.

When information about the next Grand Theft Auto game does arrive, hopefully it will be good enough to satisfy the millions of eager fans, as well as NBA All-Stars like Isaiah Thomas. There are a lot of directions Rockstar could take with Grand Theft Auto 6, and whether the game is set in the 1970's or features a return to Vice City, like many players are expecting, remains to be seen. With the next generation of video game consoles on the horizon, there isn't much time left... unless the next GTA game is for the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
