Grand Theft Auto 5 continues a long-standing tradition as Rockstar where strange and outlandish Easter eggs are laid out in the world for players to find. This guide will help players find and be able to play as Bigfoot in Grand Theft Auto 5. For a game series with such serious tones, dealing with murder, drugs, and sex, the Grand Theft Auto series also has its fair share of science fiction myths and legends to find in each entry. In the same game that contains Bigfoot, players can find aliens soaring above Los Santos and Blaine County if certain requirements are met. A giant UFO can be found above the ground, thousands of feet in the air during a very specific time of day. In the prologue of Grand Theft Auto 5, if the player drives away from the railroad tracks to a nearby frozen river, they will find an alien buried in the ice. Even in older titles like Grand Theft Auto Vice City, players can find a literal chocolate Easter egg hidden inside one of the games windows that reads "Happy Easter" on it. There are plenty of weird discoveries to find in Los Santos. This guide will help players locate the legendary Bigfoot and be able to play as him.

Bigfoot has been a myth in the Grand Theft Auto series since Grand Theft Auto San Andreas on the Playstation 2. These rumors stemmed from the playground, as no official word of Bigfoot existing in the game has ever existed. Rockstar Games even came forward and confirmed that Bigfoot was not in San Andreas. Eventually, the modding community started placing Bigfoot into Grand Theft Auto as this was a trend to continue towards future games in the series. While not confirmed, this potentially inspired Rockstar Games to give the players what they wanted. Eventually, Bigfoot would finally make his official, grand debut in Grand Theft Auto 5 in the story mode. Here's where to find Bigfoot in the game.

Bigfoot Sightings in Grand Theft Auto 5

Grand Theft Auto 5 Hunting Bigfoot

Bigfoot makes two major appearances in missions throughout the game. The first is through the mission "Predator". Predator takes Trevor Philips on a hunt with the Franklin  Michael De the O'Neil clan. During this mission, players will pursuit the O'Neil brothers in a high-speed chase. Killing the O'Neil brothers before they escape will be considered a successful mission. This mission is also one of the few times where all 3 playable characters are working together. Bigfoot can be seen for a brief second when the player is hunting the O'Neils if the player has a thermal scope. If the player zooms in on Bigfoot, he will disappear, never to be seen again for the remainder of the campaign.

The next instance in seeing Bigfoot is through a side quest called "The Last One". This mission is available only once the player 100% completes every aspect of the game. This mission can only be played by Franklin and makes him meet this hunter on the hunter for a sasquatch. Franklin offers to help him and together, they locate the beast. Turns out, "sasquatch" is actually just a man in a suit role-playing as a sasquatch. Shooting at him makes him react by requesting to shoot him again. The mission concludes with the mystery of what Bigfoot actually is, being solved. Turns out there's no actual Bigfoot in Grand Theft Auto 5, but there's a method to actually play as him.

Playing As Bigfoot in Grand Theft Auto 5

The criteria for unlocking this ability are the most difficult to unlock, as it requires the player to 100% the entire game, including "The Last One" mission. The player must now also collect all 27 Peyote Plants hidden around Los Santos. The Peyote plant is a green bulb with a white and yellow flower blooming from the top of it. Once the player has collected every Peyote plant, a new type of plant will emerge called the Golden Peyote. The Golden Peyote will only spawn once per day in a different location each time. The specific times to collect them would be from 5:30 AM to 8:00 AM. The weather also needs to be snowy or foggy. Players can use cheat codes to adjust the weather to make it easier to control.

By using this flower, the player will now have the ability to turn into Bigfoot. Hair will cover the player's body and a mask will take over with the face of Bigfoot. Bigfoot plays pretty much identical to the human character with driving and wielding guns, but the sasquatch now makes the player stronger with physical attacks. There's a cool little quest the players can take, as it requires the player to collect 7 Golden Peyotes. The player must eat one each day, beginning on Saturday and ending on Sunday. On Sunday, the player will have the Sasquatch Hunter found dead next to them. When the player howls, another howl will reply. Follow the sound and the player will find a trail of dead bodies. The end of the trail will leave the player at the Thomson Scrapyard. Here, a secret boss known as "The Beast" will appear. If the player is able to defeat the secret boss, they will unlock Bigfoot and The Beast in the Discovery Mode.

The fact that Grand Theft Auto 5 developer, Rockstar Games, provided an in-game quest from a rumor decades ago shows how far developers will go to please their fans. Grand Theft Auto rewards its players from stepping out of the laid out path in front of them. The majority of Grand Theft Auto players either just boot the game up to free roam around the world and kill people. complete the story, or play in the games online mode. The really weird and out-of-the-ordinary requires players with a keen eye of exploration and mystery solving. Mysteries like the Bigfoot quest line require players to complete every other possible objective in the game to even participate in. It's a worthy reward for putting so much time into the game as the player. As the series continues, it's to be expected for players to find more strange things hidden in this massive open worlds.
