Developer Polyphony Digital and Sony have unleashed pre-order details for Gran Turismo 7, while also confirming a $10  PS5 upgrade for PS4 players. The PS5 upgrade price, in particular, will undoubtedly raise eyebrows, given the recent drama surrounding Horizon Forbidden West's upgrade path.

The publisher initially placed a $10 price tag on the upgrade to PS5 upon announcing Horizon Forbidden West's pre-order specifications. Backlash from the audience prompted Sony to change course in just a matter of days, though such news did come with an interesting stinger at the end. Going forward, all "PlayStation first-party exclusive cross-gen titles" will offer a $10 upgrade for those looking to bring their PS4 copy to PS5 and take advantage of the latter's various bells and whistles. Sony, specifically, noted the pricing model will apply to the likes of God of War Ragnarok and Gran Turismo 7. And the latest Gran Turismo-related news indicates the company has not changed its mind on the matter, either.
