Grab bag of stuff

I apologize for having been gone for a while, but between the frenzy of the Christmas holiday (that's right, I said CHRISTMAS... you got a problem wit' 'dat?) 8) , personal business, and the news of the tsunami deaths, I just haven't been able to find my writing mojo.

So let's see if we can jumpstart it, shall we?

Headline of the day from Ain't it Cool News:

  • "RACING STRIPES is as bad as you think"

No... really? I'm shocked. Even my eight year old thought it looked stupid in the commercials.

Quote of the day from an actor (Samuel L. Jackson) that I now respect even more than before:

  • "Hollywood people tend to think that because one is successful in one aspect of entertainment they can bring them into this particular world and make a success out of them. What is it about 50 Cent that makes Jim Sheridan say: 'I'd really like to make a movie with him?'"

Sam, I just want to personally thank you from the bottom of my heart for stepping up to the plate and telling it like it is. :D

On the initial five minutes of footage of Elektra available here:

I'm a big believer in the theory that if the first 5 or 10 minutes of a movie stink, the rest of it will as well. From what I've seen I won't quite write this one off as schlock yet. We're not talking Citizen Kane but I thought it was ok and a good setup for the story.

Batman and Robin coming to DVD (no, not THAT one):

1949's Batman and Robin is coming to DVD in March. It's a 15 episode collection and I think it will be VERY cool. Click here for the cover image and I dare you to disagree. :)

On Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor in Brian Singer's upcoming Superman film:

Batman Begins:

The more I read the more I believe this is going to be my favorite movie of 2005.

That is all.
