In any big city, life moves pretty fast. In Gotham City, life not only moves fast, but death sometimes moves even faster. This is especially true with Gotham's residents now being menaced by Dr. Hugo Strange's escaped experiments from Indian Hill, despite the city's powers that be doing their best to cover up the problem. One man who knows full well of the danger present is Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), former GCPD supercop that now makes his living hunting down the aforementioned monstrosities. Another is psychotic criminal Oswald "Penguin" Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor), who lives in fear of receiving his comeuppance at the hands of the creatures' resurrected leader, Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith).
Right on the edge of uncovering the whole truth about Indian Hill is intrepid Gotham Gazette reporter - and character specifically created for TV - Valerie Vale (Jamie Chung). Valerie is the aunt of Vicki, future love interest to both Bruce Wayne and his caped alter ego. Valerie wants answers, and she won't stop until she gets them, no matter how many times Gordon and others dance around giving her the exact details.
Oddly enough, Penguin is perhaps the only other person in town who shares Vale's desire to expose Indian Hill's escapees to the public, albeit for his own reasons. Still, credible information is credible information to a journalist, regardless of the source. With only a scant few days remaining until Gotham officially kicks off season 3, FOX has released four new teaser clips for the episode, entitled Better to Reign in Hell. All can be viewed directly below.
The first clip spotlights a rather annoyed Gordon getting pumped for info about Indian Hill by Vale while trying to get drunk at a local bar. The second also features Vale, this time interrupting a press conference by the Mayor and Capt. Barnes at the GCPD headquarters. The third sees Bruce giving Wayne Enterprises' corrupt board members a pressing ultimatum. Finally, the fourth clip is just a general preview of the whole episode as a whole.
One thing made very clear by the above clips is that despite being a new addition to Gotham's madness, Valerie Vale is set to be a big part of season 3, and doesn't plan on letting anyone deter her from getting the scoop on Indian Hill and the larger corruption permeating the city government. Of course, this might not be a good thing for her career prospects or even life expectancy, as those who challenge the Gotham establishment rarely find themselves emerging personally unscathed.
Gotham season 3 premieres Monday, September 19 on FOX.
