Behind-the-scenes footage from Gotham Knights teases the transformation of Misha Collins into the villainous Two Face. Gotham Knights is a new CW show that follows the aftermath of the murder of Batman (David Alexander Miller) and the effect that it has on the lives of all those in Gotham City, especially the Dark Knight's adoptive son. With the show's trailer having been released shortly after the announcement that Batwoman season 3 was canceled, Gotham Knights has faced sharp criticism, but the show is increasing its marketing efforts once again.Collins, who earned acclaim in his long-time performance as Castiel in Supernatural, has been incredibly excited about his upcoming Gotham Knights role as Harvey Dent thanks to just how different it is after years as the relatively good-hearted Castiel. The actor released a New Years update showing the make-up work that goes into turning him into a scarred villain with a half-burned face. Everything We Know About Gotham Knights

Gotham Knights will follow the adventures of Turner Hayes (Oscar Morgan), Batman's adoptive son. After the death of Batman, Hayes is forced to work with a team that is being framed for Batman's murder as he tries to bring justice to Gotham City and clear the names of those wrongfully accused. Behind-the-scenes images have already shown Batman's death, so all that remains to be seen is how the next generation will handle the loss of the hero and find outwho really committed the heinous act.

The cast will be a group of lesser known Batman characters who will be taking advantage of the opportunity to get recognized on a larger stage. Navia Robinson will be playing Carrie Kelley, an alternate version of Robin; Fallon Smythe will be playing another Batman sidekick, Bluebird; Tyler DiChiara will be playing Bluebird's brother, Cullen Row; Olivia Rose Keegan is taking up the role of the Joker's daughter; Anna Lore will be Cluemaster's daughter, Stephanie Brown; and Rahart Adams will be playing the son of the elite Lincoln March. The Gotham Knights trailer showed off Batman's death and offered a first look at these new young heroes.

In the comic books, the Gotham Knights are a fiercer version of the Bat-family, so the show may be harsher than most Batman spin-offs. Considering that they will not benefit from Batman's alliance with the police department, thanks to the fact that the Knights have been framed for his murder, the team will need to be able to function completely independently. Since so many of them are the children of supervillains, they won't even be able to rely on their parents. In terms of the show's aesthetic, there has already been some criticism of Gotham Knights' lack of super suits, but DiChiara has indicated that there are still more secrets for the show to reveal. It remains to be seen what Gotham Knights will look like, but it seems that Misha Collins will look remarkably different once his Dent fully transforms into the villainous Two-Face.

Gotham Knights is scheduled for release in 2023.
