In sharing details from WarnerMedia's 2021 results, CEO Jason Kilar seemingly confirmed that Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy remain on track for a 2022 release. Warner Bros. announced the two licensed projects in 2020, listing both on its slate of 2021 game releases. Subsequent plans delayed Hogwarts Legacy to 2022, with the Bat Family-starring title receiving similar news just a couple of months later.

Though Warner itself has yet to hint at further delays, rumors and speculation claim neither project will hit store shelves this calendar year. One recent report citing information obtained from insider sources alleged that Hogwarts Legacy, in particular, would receive yet another lengthy push out of its planned release window. A post from the official Warner Play Brazil Twitter account soon thereafter debunked the delay rumors, sharing a tweet that seemed to double down on previously laid plans. Given the perceived lack of a marketing push, prospective players have similarly begun questioning the likelihood of Gotham Knights' 2022 launch.

A recent rundown of WarnerMedia's 2021 results from CEO Jason Kilar on Twitter featured a few cursory 2022 plans, a few of which concerned the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment games publishing arm. Partway through a Twitter thread, Kilar referenced the company's intention of delivering "a full slate of highly anticipated games." Two specific video games received mention via screenshot - Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy - indicating that despite the ongoing rumors and speculation, both will still hit store shelves sometime this calendar year.

Why exactly details on Gotham Knights remain quiet remains a mystery. It's worth noting, however, that just because public-facing information suggests one thing doesn't mean the same belief is held internally. Warner Bros. could have every intention of launching the action title in 2022, yet the development side of things may tell a different story entirely. Meanwhile, rumor and speculation for Hogwarts Legacy's delays cite J.K. Rowling-related controversies as the reason.

Oddly enough, neither Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League nor LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga were featured in the above Twitter post from Jason Kilar, though they, too, are due to release in 2022. It could've been a simple matter of the CEO running out of room to mention the full slate, of course, or perhaps an indication that Kilar is specifically responding to rumors over their delays. Still, it's interesting to note that the two games whose releases remain up in the air were the ones to garner the most attention in this particular instance.
