With the Court of Owls confirmed to play a central role in Gotham Knights, there is a chance for the game to introduce the organization's most famous Talon from the comics. With the Court's Talons more or less guaranteed to appear due to their importance, it makes perfect sense to include some more distinctive members of the group. None would provide a more interesting role than the rogue Talon, Strix.

Strix is unique among the Talons in that she developed her own sense of morality and walked away from the Court of Owls, instead teaming up with heroes and antiheroes alike as she followed her own path. While her lethal skills are still on display, her unique personality makes her very memorable. Also, considering Red Hood's past, another assassin on Gotham Knights' team wouldn't stick out too much. WB Games Montréal's title already seems primed to include plenty of elements from the history of Batman and Gotham City, so Strix would fit in perfectly.

Originally, Strix was just another member of the Talons, killing on the orders of the court. However, when she met Batgirl, she felt a connection with her, stemming from their similar combat abilities as well as the fact that they both wear masks. After spending some time questioning her life, she defects from the Court and begins working with the Birds of Prey (originally founded by Barbara Gordon), and later the Secret Six. Mute and lacking in education, Strix communicates through written notes and understands very few aspects of life that don't involve killing. Despite her connection to one of Batman's worst enemies, she proves herself to be very loyal to her friends and thoroughly enjoys the peaceful moments that she gets, making her quite likable.

Strix Should Join Batgirl & The Bat Family In Gotham Knights

In Combat, Strix is terrifyingly lethal and efficient.

If she were to appear alongside the Court of Owls in Gotham Knights, a storyline similar to her defection in the comics could take place, with her being impressed and finding common ground with the masked heroes that protect Gotham in Batman's absence. After an early battle, she could return later as an ally of the group, infiltrating the Court and helping to bring them down from the inside. Alternately, she could already have split off from the Court before meeting the team, and after originally being mistaken as an enemy, she could assist in fighting off the Talons and other enemies. Considering how dangerous the Court of Owls is, she would make for a very powerful ally in the chaotic Gotham City.

Another potential idea for her would be a DLC similar to Batman: Arkham Knight's Batgirl mission, giving Strix her own short story and potentially adding her as another playable hero in Gotham Knights. Considering that Red Hood already uses guns and knives on a regular basis, Strix's move set of blades and martial arts would not feel too out of place. Strix's personality and skillset also mean that there are plenty of directions that WB Games Montréal could take with her. A good idea may be exploring how she broke away from the Court of Owls, and what she was doing before meeting up with the heroes. There are several very dangerous Talons serving the Court, and having Strix duel them could be an excellent spectacle.

As powerful as Gotham Knights' Court of Owls is as Batman villains, Strix could likewise be a great presence as a force opposing the villains of Gotham. Her quiet and deadly professionalism provides a strong contrast to the talkative heroes that make up the Bat Family. With any luck, Gotham Knights may give players a Talon on their own side to help oppose the Court of Owls.
