Including Batwoman in Gotham Knights would instantly make the game better, both in terms of story and relevancy. Although Batwoman is not discussed as much as some other Bat Family members such as Robin and Catwoman, she is still an important member of Batman's inner circle. There are key roles that she would be able to play in Gotham Knights if she is included, including even possibly leading the team.

Kate Kane is Bruce Wayne's cousin, and she also comes from a very privileged upbringing. As an adult, she was inspired to become a vigilante after seeing Batman in person. Using the combat training that she gained from her military veteran father and his squad, she became the vigilante Batwoman. She takes a more aggressive approach to fighting crime than Bruce, but the two of them ultimately share the same ideals when it comes to making Gotham City a safer place. Considering that the Court of Owls is in Gotham Knights and taking advantage of Batman's disappearance, Batwoman's expertise would be more than welcome in the fight against Gotham's criminal underworld.

Batwoman has some strong connections to the Bat Family outside of being Bruce Wayne's cousin. In Detective Comics Rebirth, when Batman put together a team of heroes including Cassandra Cain, Spoiler, and a reformed Clayface to help him fight crime, Kate helps to train and advise them for their mission. Although she and Batman may not cross paths incredibly often, it's clear that they respect and trust each other greatly and she's as much a member of the Bat Family as Batman's greatest student in Gotham Knights, Nightwing. When it comes to protecting Gotham in his absence, Kate would almost definitely be one of the first people that Bruce would call on for assistance.

Batwoman Could Be The Leader That The Gotham Knights Team Needs

Kate Kane AKA Batwoman standing in a rainy Gotham City

If Batwoman were to show up in Gotham Knights, it would probably be a position of authority similar to her role in Detective Comics Rebirth. Being older than the rest of the team and an experienced hero in her own right, she would be a good leader for the squad. Even if she isn't in the field with the rest of them, she can act as mission control and make sure that the Knights know what they need to be doing. She would be the one deciphering the clues that the team collects in order to solve the mysteries surrounding Bruce Wayne's suspicious death in Gotham Knights and the city's subsequent descent into crime. In a way, she could probably take the role that Batman himself once held for Gotham.

Bringing Batwoman into Gotham Knights would also be a boost for a traditionally underappreciated character. Aside from the recent Batwoman TV series, Kate has not had many chances to cross over into other forms of media. In addition, Kate is an out lesbian and one of DC's most prominent LGBTQ+ characters, and she could provide some excellent representation if added to the game. By featuring Kate as the confident, competent, and skilled leader that she is, she could stand as a fantastic example of an LGBTQ+ superhero. There are many heroes apart from Batman Gotham Knights should include, but Kate Kane should be at the top of the list.

Batwoman is not only one of the most skilled members of the Bat Family, but a tough and respected one as well. If there was anyone to lead the heroes of Gotham City after Bruce's departure, she is the perfect candidate for the job. When it comes to characters who should be a part of Gotham Knights, Batwoman should be first in the conversation.
