A Marvel fan has the perfect response to the sexist attacks that Peacemaker star Jennifer Holland is suffering for being cast in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is written and directed by her husband, James Gunn. The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 cast brings back the main stars of the franchise but also introduces new actors to the MCU, with Holland being one of them. The actress has been receiving hate on social media for her role in the film due to being Gunn's wife, and a Marvel fan rose up with the perfect response to the sexist campaign against Holland. On Twitter, @jonnbridges defended Holland by listing some of the male stars who have had multiple roles in Gunn films over the years and did not receive any criticism for it, showcasing the sexist nature of the Holland in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 complaints.

Gunn initially debunked Holland being in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but the movie's official press release included her as part of the cast. Holland plays Administrator Kwol, who will have a brief role early in the film. Many Hollywood directors have the tradition of working with select actors over multiple projects, and Gunn is no different, which renders the Holland complaints null and void.

Every Actor James Gunn Has Worked With Multiple Times

Gunn has a long list of collaborators throughout his time working in the industry, with some of the director's friends appearing in his early projects, as well as Gunn's superhero work for Marvel and DC. The practice is normal among Hollywood directors, as creatives tend to keep working with actors they form a connection with and know can deliver what the director wants. One of the most famous directors for doing this is Martin Scorsese, who works with Leonardo DiCaprio for the seventh time and Robert De Niro for the eleventh time in the upcoming Killers of the Flower Moon.

Gunn's list of collaborators includes many popular names, with the list being made up of actors such as Michael Rooker, Nathan Fillion, Kevin Bacon, Sylvester Stallone, Chukwudi Iwuji, Daniela Melchior, Flula Borg, Gregg Henry, Lloyd Kaufman, Mikaela Hoover, Rob Zombie, Stephen Blackehart, Steve Agee, John Cena, Holland, and his brother Sean Gunn. As it stands, Gunn has a long list of collaborators, which makes it painfully obvious that the attacks made against Holland are not really about her appearances in the director's projects.

Gunn will soon move over from Marvel to lead the new DC Universe, and some actors have made it clear that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be their last Marvel Cinematic Universe adventure. Gunn wants to work with the movie's cast again in his new DC job, which would make his collaborators list grow even more. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 also marks one more reunion for Gunn, with Linda Cardellini — who played Velma in the couple of Scooby-Doo live-action films Gunn wrote — playing Lylla the Otter. All this makes the criticism against Holland look rather foolish.
