As a true 'it' girl from a well-off family, Serena was used to getting whatever and whoever she wanted, whenever she wanted. It turned out that all the material items and attention were nothing compared to true love, though.
It never seemed like she could have been with someone like Dan Humphrey, but he was good for her. Plus, when he looked at her, she wanted to actually believe in herself, which was huge.
“I know we're too young to talk about forever, but that's what it feels like.”
Furthermore, Serena got real serious with Dan real fast. Sure, she had moved quickly before, and she was no stranger to dating, hooking up and so on. But from the beginning, it was different with this relationship.
Breakups may have happened, and hurt may have occurred, but she was right; in the end, it was a forever type of love!

Another time Serena made a nasty remark was when she told Blair that not everyone wanted to be Blair Waldorf. These two were like family, meaning they fought like sisters. But when taking a deeper look at this quote, it was actually sort of nice.

A very sweet moment came when Serena opened up to Dan; she thought for sure, after putting up with her life and family and past and friends, that he would leave or hate her. And while they did have some not-so-great moments, he never really judged or doubted or loathed her. He was one of the good ones.
