Few other teen dramas have romances as memorable as Gossip Girl. Since it released until the present day, audiences remember how Chuck and Blair, Dan and Serena, and Rufus and Lily made them feel when they watched the show. The decadence of Gossip Girl is its main attraction, but the chaotic love between its characters is the Midas touch.

While rehashing the love affairs of GG characters could be fun, it would be even more enjoyable to sum up their love stories using tunes by the empress of love songs, Taylor Swift, whose lyrics manage to capture the universal emotions that partners can instigate in each other while they're together.

Dan & Serena: You Belong With Me (Taylor's Version)

"You Belong With Me" is sung from the perspective of a girl who is an outsider looking in, particularly at a handsome boy who has caught her eye. Beseeching to her lover, she tries to convince him that she's his true soulmate, and if that doesn't sum up Dan and Serena's relationship, little else does.

Being a Brooklyn boy on the fringes of the wealthy milieu that Serena hung out with, it was almost impossible that she would fall for someone like him. Dan pined for his lady love, found a way in, and managed to even make her fall in love with him, which is one of the most romantic scenes of Gossip Girl. He knew from the start that they were made for each other.

Chuck & Blair: The Way I Loved You (Taylor's Version)

Chuck and Blair meet in Paris after their break up

If the desire for turbulent love is strong in a fan, they should listen to "The Way I Loved You" by Taylor Swift. The lyrics paint a vivid photo of a young woman with the "right man" — charming, polite, and comfortable — but she misses her ex who made her scream with passion, frustration and gave her something to fight for.

Chuck and Blair were one of the hardest-shipped couples on the show, and they had one of the best weddings on Gossip Girl, but not easily. The couple had a hard time before it all: Chuck couldn't profess his love, Blair got traded in for a hotel, she forgave him but dumped him to forge her own path, and then met an unsavory prince on the way. Dan was a healthy fit for her, but she missed her chaotic and love-crazed relationship with Chuck and went on to be with him.

Cyrus & Eleanor: Lover

Taylor Swift's "Lover" is a heartwarming tune about two soulmates who have found one another, made a home together, and intend to be together every summer from now until forever. A popular choice for a wedding song, it describes simple, pure, and joyous love where both the lovers want to be together for an eternity.

Blair's mother Eleanor found the sweetest man for herself in the ebullient and loving Cyrus Rose, who cared for her and Blair deeply and wanted nothing more than to be married to Eleanor. They were supportive of each other and completely secure — a love for the ages.

Rufus & Lily: Paper Rings

Rufus and Lily kiss in Gossip Girl.

Swift's "Paper Rings" is a peppy track that narrates an adorable love story between two people who played "cat and mouse for a month or two or three", but couldn't help but get attracted to each other like a magnetic field. These lovers would give up the shiny things that they love and marry each other with paper rings just so they can be together.

Lily and Rufus' love spanned decades, and they too had an epic love story of meeting when Rufus used to tour with his band, which ended soon after, but reignited with a controversial Gossip Girl love triangle when they met again, older. Lily liked fine, beautiful things, but when the grand wedding to Rufus got disrupted because of the arrival of their estranged son, she married Rufus in an intimate loft function because their love meant more to her than a splashy ceremony.

Dan & Georgina: We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

Some relationships are doomed from the start, yet people try their best to revive them in a cycle of break-ups and make-ups which become more and more tedious till one of them finally closes the chapter forever. "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" tells the tale of one exhausting and annoying relationship like this one, full of lies and stupid excuses.

This song fits Dan and Georgina, everyone's favorite villain on Gossip Girl, perfectly. Georgina told Dan several lies to distance him from Serena which led to a dalliance between them, after which she left. However when she returned, it was in a heavily pregnant state with Dan's supposed baby. She lied to him about Milo's paternity and almost left him with a kid that wasn't his, and Dan definitely would never want to get back together with Georgina at any point after that.

Serena & Nate: Illicit Affairs

Folklore's "Illicit Affairs" was about that exactly — a relationship borne out of infidelity, kept a secret, and the way it affects the couple and people around them. Stolen stares and clandestine meetings lead to an initially thrilling affair, but ends in lies and sadness.

Serena and Nate started off as an illicit affair while Nate was dating her best friend Blair. They had some perfect and satisfying moments, but it couldn't hold up and Serena had to leave town to protect Blair and herself. It caused pain in every direction, and Nate and Serena couldn't quite get the spark back even when they tried a couple years later when all was forgiven.

Blair & Nate: Fifteen (Taylor's Version)

Fearless (Taylor's Version) had several songs that were wiser and older than Swift herself was at the time, but "Fifteen" was one track where she sang about finding a first love at a tender age and feeling duped by broken promises because one can't know any better at that age.

Nate was Blair's first love, and she had been with him for their entire school lives. She could see their future playing out in front of them over the next few years, but she had no idea that Nate and Serena had chemistry which culminated into feelings and sex while she wasn't looking. The song describes perfectly what Blair would have felt when her high school love wasn't the one after all.

Blair & Louis: I Knew You Were Trouble

Besides singing heartwarming songs about true love, Taylor Swift also writes some of the best breakup songs out there, and "I Knew You Were Trouble" is one of her greatest musical tales about choosing the wrong man by getting dazzled by his façade, and later realizing that he wasn't who he said he was and it was all a mirage.

Poor Blair wanted to be a princess so badly, that she got involved with Prince Louis without doing her due diligence. He seemed like the real deal who didn't care if she was pregnant with Chuck's child and treated her well, but as soon as they got married he revealed to her that she was trapped in a loveless union with a heavy dowry to get out of it if she wanted. Blair knew that she was treading water but she fell for the dream anyway.

Chuck & Eva: Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version)

Chuck and Eva prepare to leave Paris for New York in Gossip Girl

A short-lived entanglement with a bad boy, and a good girl singing about how she knows they'll end, but she wants him to remember her in a pretty dress by the sunset. The trending song is about a forbidden but memorable romance which Taylor will remember forever.

Chuck and Eva, too, had a fairytale romance that went from the quaint streets of Paris to the penthouses of the Upper East Side. Eva was a simple girl, and she knew that it was too good to be true, so she left Chuck with nothing but good wishes and happy memories, like the song.

Dan & Blair: The 1

Taylor Swift's wistful ballad about a former lover who she thought was The One resonates greatly with many people. Sometimes, it seems like you've found the perfect person until it doesn't work out, but one can't help but wonder what life would have been like if they hadn't broken up, and how sweet and fun it could have been.

The bittersweet ballad seems like it was made for the infamous Dair — a couple that synchronized so perfectly when it came to interests, hobbies, passions, and emotions that it was a pity that they couldn't quite make it. Dan and Blair were a healthy, robust couple, and in another world they would have been together forever.
