The Reboot Is In The Same Universe As The Original Series

According to Bazaar, the official summary of the reboot says, "Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl."

It goes on to say, "The prestige series will address just how much social media—and the landscape of New York itself—has changed in the intervening years." The new characters will exist in the same universe as Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, and Dan Humphrey.

Emily Alyn Lind Landed A Role -- Audrey

Emily Alyn Lind is the only actress to land on a role on the reboot with an official name so far. She will be playing the role of Audrey, a teenager who has been locked down in a serious relationship for a long time and is ready to spread her wings and experience the singe life.

As a teenager, being stuck in a serious relationship can be very heavy and difficult to deal with. It seems like the rebooted version of the show will tackle tough issues like the original one did.

Whitney Peak Landed A Role -- Unknown Name

Whitney Peak landed a role but no one is sure what the name of her character is quite yet. She played the role of Judith Blackwood in part 3 of Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina for a handful of episodes.

Peak is 17 years old this year and she was born in the country of Uganda. Prior to landing this role, she had a small part in CW's iZombie as well as Molly's Game, an Academy Award-nominated film.

Zion Moreno Landed A Role -- Unknown Name

Some people might not who Zion Moreno is but soon enough, everyone will. The fact that she has landed a role on the rebooted version of Gossip Girl means that she will soon have a very recognized face.

Prior to Gossip Girl, she has appeared on Claws from TNT's network. Before becoming an actress, she tried her hand at modeling also.

Adam Chanler-Berat Landed A Role -- Unknown Name

Adam Chanler-Berat landed a role but at the moment, the name of the character he plays isn't public knowledge. it will be interesting to find out who exactly he will be playing once the show finally premiers.

Some of the places one might recognize Adam Chanler-Berat from? He starred in Next to Normal, Peter & the Starcatcher, and Amélie.

Eli Brown Landed A Role -- Unknown Name

Show creators have not released the name of the character Eli Brown will be playing yet. What the world knows so far is that he has definitely landed a role on the Gossip Girl reboot.

Brown is 19 years old this year and has appeared on Freeform's Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists as Dylan Walker. He can also be seen in the movies Run Hide Fight and The F**k-It List. Another fun fact about him is that he enjoys writing songs.

Johnathan Fernandez Landed A Role -- Unknown Name

Johnathon Fernandez was born in Brooklyn, similar to the character of Dan Humphrey from the original series. At 46 years old, it is very likely that he will be playing the role of someone's father on the reboot.

He acted in three seasons of Lethal Weapon playing the role of Bernard Scorsese. That means he has already had his fair share of intense drama acting. He will easily be able to take on whatever the rebooted version of Gossip Girl throws his way.

Jason Gotay Landed A Role -- Unknown Name

One of the older actors who has been cast for the reboot is named Jason Gotay. At this time, it isn't public knowledge about what character he will be playing. Gotay is from New York city which means he most likely already knows his way around the upper eastside.

Kristen Bell Will Be Narrating (Again!)

Kristen Bell narrated the original series leading everyone to believe that the identity of Gossip Girl was a female. In the end, everyone discovered that it was actually *spoiler alert* Dan Humphrey anonymously working his magic behind a computer screen, spreading lies about his besties.

Kristen Bell will be back to narrate the new reboot, the same way she did the first time around and fans could not be more excited about it.
