On the Upper East Side, attractive and affluent characters such as Serena Van Der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, Dan Humphrey, Chuck Bass, and Nate Archibald spent their time attending private school, getting dressed up for glamorous events, shopping, traveling the world and receiving blasts from Gossip Girl.

And in the world of Disney, there are pretty princesses, handsome heroes, silly sidekicks, and vicious villains, all making up parts of fairy tales in beloved and animated movies. While this may seem a bit different than the teen drama Gossip Girl, there are actually some similarities. So, presenting: Gossip Girl characters and their Disney counterparts!

Serena Van Der Woodsen & Aurora

Serena Van Der Woodsen & Aurora

Serena van der Woodsen is the it girl, the one who turns heads and starts trends. She has a fun and friendly personality, though there are some moments and habits from her past that she wishes she could forget.

While she shares many traits with the typical Disney princess, she may be the most like Aurora from Sleeping Beauty; this character is a classic, she is always happy and spreading cheer to those around her, and she has those beautiful, long, golden locks. However, she does end up cursed, and S has probably felt that way a couple of times, such as when it came to her time with Georgina or some of her relationships.

Blair Waldorf & Marie

Queen B, Blair Waldorf, is bossy, brilliant, and beautiful. She loves to be in charge, she loves fashion, and she does not let anything get in her way when it comes to reaching each and every goal.

On a similar note, there is Marie from The Aristocats. This prissy little kitten, in her cute pink bow, is Duchess’ only daughter, and she likes to think that she runs the show!

Dan Humphrey & The Beast

Dan Humphrey & The Beast

Dan Humphrey’s Disney counterpart would be the prince from Beauty and the Beast. First of all, they both had two sides to them, as Dan was actually Gossip Girl and as The Beast was actually cursed.

They are both very sweet and kind souls, though.  Secondly, just look at that library in that castle… Dan would love that.

Chuck Bass & Gaston

Chuck Bass & Gaston

Chuck Bass is a powerful and influential young man, and he eventually got his happy ever after. Back in the day, though, he was full of pain, and he was not that nice to those around him, including any females he had one-on-one time with.

The old Chuck was sort of like Gaston: He had this bold, handsome, and demanding presence, but his priorities were messed up, he abused his influence, and he was just gross!

Nate Archibald & Flynn Rider

Nate Archibald & Flynn Rider

It is easy to imagine Nate Archibald as Tangleds Flynn Rider. These characters are both quite handsome, with all-American looks, but they are not the brightest bulbs.

They make up for it in other areas, though, as Nate is athletic, and Flynn helped save a princess. These guys have sensitive and caring sides, too, despite any rebellious behavior, which is nice.

Vanessa Abrams & Esmeralda

Vanessa Abrams & Esmeralda

As Gossip Girl progressed, Vanessa Abrams was introduced. She used to be best friends with Dan, she dated a couple of guys in the main group, and then she moved away, after really hurting Serena and her pals. On a positive note, though, Vanessa is a free spirit and an artist who dresses in a creative way.

Esmeralda is a main character from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and she shares those qualities with Vanessa. Additionally, they are both strong women who stand up and speak out against injustices, to help others and for themselves.

Jenny Humphrey & Tinker Bell

Jenny Humphrey had quite the transformation, as she went from a little sister to the most popular girl at school to an outcast. She lost her way, but she is a good person, deep down.

This sounds a bit like Tinker Bell; she is Peter Pan’s right-hand woman, yet she can be pretty selfish and vain, throwing fits and being rude!

Dorota Kishlovsky & Merryweather

Dorota Kishlovsky & Merryweather

A fan favorite on the show is Dorota Kishlovsky, who is like a mother and a BFF to Blair. From fixing her meals and giving her advice to helping her pick out outfits and figure out the next steps, she is always there for her.

Similarly, Merryweather is one of the fairies who is always there for Sleeping Beauty, so this is a fit in Gossip Girl/Disney heaven.

Georgina Sparks & Cruella De Vil

Georgina Sparks & Cruella De Vil

There are several acquaintances who have been friends with the main group, who have dated people in the main group or who have tortured the main group, including Georgina Sparks.

With her egotistical ways and over-the-top ensembles, she can sometimes give off Cruella De Vil vibes.

Blair’s Minions & The Bimbettes

And finally, there are the perfect counterparts for Blair’s minions: The Bimbettes from Beauty and the Beast! Their names are actually Claudette, Laurette, and Paulette, and they are triplets who dress alike and who are very into Gaston.

Similarly, Blair always had a group of girls (who were more followers than friends), such as Penelope, Isabel, Kati, and Hazel… girls who flirted with the cutest boys in school and all dressed in nearly identical ways.
