Gossip Girl was about a group of friends who lived on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Their glamorous lives, which made for a very exciting TV show, were put on display by an anonymous blogger. And some of the supporting characters of the story were on the outside of this world… like Vanessa Abrams. She did not fit in with this luxurious lifestyle, and she didn’t really want to, deep down.
Still, she brought her own style and personality to the series. In fact, the 10 looks that are mentioned down below are her 10 best outfits of all time!
Bomber Jacket
Early on in the series, Vanessa showed up in this outfit, which was very her and which is very remembered by one and all; it was casual, it was cool, it had some playful elements, and it had a sporty vibe to it.
Two of the pieces were basics—a T-shirt and jeans—but then she added awesome sneakers, jewelry, a curly ponytail and this great bomber jacket, which true fans will remember well. While she definitely elevated her look at times, this was a good introduction to this character and her style. It is probably the best-known outfit she ever wore, too!
Shorts & Summer Tops
Several more relaxed outfits from Vanessa involved shorts and summery tops. These all looked very similar, and they certainly showed off her body in a great way! They all were made up of eclectic items, as well, such as large earrings, embellishments, prints, hobo bags, bright colors and her long and loose waves.
If someone finds a look that works for them, they should run with it, just as she did again and again and again and again!
Orange Coat
On the other hand, Vanessa served up some good winter ensembles, as well. After all, this show was set in New York, where it can get quite cold, so lots of layering was seen, such as this orange coat. She would never wear a boring black pea coat or a basic tan trench coat. No, she was all about fun and festive colors!
That being said, she did not stop with this strong statement piece. She also wore a printed dress, a pair of blue leggings, a printed scarf and a pair of brown boots with fringe on them. Too much? Not for this chick.
Plaid Coat
Another notable coat owned by this character was a plaid one done in blues and oranges. Once again, she wore it over a bright outfit (a blue dress, to be exact) that was accessorized with tights, boots, a purse and lots of neat jewelry.
Since the main characters on this series attended a private school, there was a good amount of plaid seen in different outfits. However, when Vanessa wore this print, it was different, unique, colorful and so her. As mentioned, not all fans may have loved her, but everyone can surely appreciate her distinct style.
Yellow Dress
From school events and runway shows to parties and dances, there was always some big and flashy function for these characters to attend. And at said events, Vanessa always opted for bohemian-style dresses, which were very pretty and very fitting.
One of the best was yellow, as seen here and now. It was pretty simple and had flouncy sleeves, for an added flair. On its own, it was a wise choice, but this girl was all about the amazing accessories. So, she paired it with a turquoise clutch, a layered blue necklace and gold statement earrings.
Ruffle Dress
A similar dress is up next, but instead of being a solid and sunshine-y color, it was a printed one... an adorable printed one! It had that cut and fit that suited her well and that was quite flattering. It had ruffles all down the sides, for a festive flair. And it had all of the jewelry for which this character was known.

Furthermore, it should be pointed out that while any hairstyle would look great on this star, this pulled-back one was a true winner. She is just stunning!
Colorblock Dress
A memorable scene at college gave the world this colorblock dress, which was super fun and flattering. The bottom part, which was long and flowy, was navy blue. The top part, which had those signature ruffles on it, was a light blue. Then, there was an orange trim that went down into a deep-V on the bodice. Vanessa also opted for a turquoise ring, bracelet and necklace, to keep with this color scheme.
It may have not been a shining moment for her, but it was a very memorable outfit!
Strapless Dress
This outfit was not as boho or as vibrant as most of the other things in Vanessa’s closet, but it belongs on this list. At one of the many fancy events that took place on this show, Vanessa once wore this strapless dress. It was much fancier than her normal dresses. It was short and fitted and strapless, which made it feel a little more elegant than her usual casual vibe. It had browns and golds and creams in it, which was not common, when it came to her wardrobe. But this new and different ensemble was glamorous and great.
Her Gown
And, of course, there was this gown. It was another one that was not really on brand for this character. However, the more she hung out with Dan and Nate and the others, the more elevated and glam her looks became.
With this specific outfit, she seemed to have just stepped out of old Hollywood. The color, the material, the fit, the bodice, the details on the sleeves, the few sparkly pieces of jewelry, the color on her lip, the style of her hair... It was all beyond perfect, and while it is much tamer than some of her other outfits, it has earned the number-one spot!
