Goosebumps 2 has begun casting with four young actors now being signed to the film. The Goosebumps book series by R.L. Stine has been around since the summer of 1992 with the publication of Welcome to Dead House. Stine has published dozens of novels in the series, which are usually unconnected, but occasionally there were sequels. The collection of horror stories for children was eventually made into a television show, and even spawned multiple spin-off books. Then, in 2015, a live action movie released.

The Goosebumps movie was quite successful, making almost twice its budget back. Rather than focus on any specific books, it told an original story where author Stine was a character played by Jack Black. In the film, all the characters Stine created came to life when he used a certain typewriter. Naturally, to prevent the end of the world, he trapped them all in manuscripts. But, as is to be expected from children's films, the monsters eventually got out and wreaked all sorts of havoc. The movie ended happily with most of the monsters defeated, but a sequel was definitely set up by the end of the film. So far, the sequel has had a few bumps in the road, including a change in directors, as well as a new title implying a change in plot as well. Goosebumps 2 is also going to have a new cast of characters, possibly in part due to some availability issues with Jack Black.

Variety reports that Sony Pictures has filled out the main cast for Goosebumps 2, which includes Madison Iseman, whose recent breakout role was starring in Sony's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle in 2017. Jeremy Ray Taylor, Ben O'Brien, and Caleel Harris join Iseman as the three other main cast members.

Iseman also played the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus on Still the King and was in the anthology horror film Tales of Halloween. Taylor had roles in Ant-Man and Geostorm, and also gave a standout performance as Ben in IT. O'Brien, meanwhile, made his debut as the younger version of Lucas Hedges character in Manchester by the Sea, thus making Goosebumps 2 his second major film role. And Harris played Regina Hall's son in Think Like a Man and its sequel, and voiced Franklin in The Peanuts Movie. He recently filmed a few episodes of the new Stephen King series, Castle Rock.

While the plot of Goosebumps 2 is still unknown, the movie is off to a good start with this young cast. Not only are they all veterans of some big movies, but three of them have experience specifically in the horror genre. They may be young, but they have the experience to make this film a scary one for kids and adults alike.
