It's no secret that the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are two of the best smartphone values available right now — but does Google go the extra mile by including a free case with the phones? Now more than ever, people want to make sure they're getting the most for their money when buying a new phone. Specs are getting better, companies are getting more aggressive with their pricing, and there are more models than ever to choose from.

For the most part, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro do a phenomenal job of standing out from their many competitors. Both phones have excellent displays, fast performance, top-notch cameras, and deliver all of that at surprisingly low prices. The regular Pixel 6 is available for just $599, while the flagship Pixel 6 Pro can be had for $899. Compared to other handsets like the Galaxy S21 and iPhone 13, it's easy to see why the Pixel 6 series is getting so much attention.

As good of a value as the Pixel 6 is, however, there are some modern smartphone trends it just can't escape. The phones don't have headphone jacks, expandable storage, or removable batteries. They also don't come with a free case in the box. No matter if someone buys the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro, a free case is not something that's included. Instead, the Pixel 6 ships with just a USB-C charging cable, SIM ejection tool, and instructional materials. That's it.

Pixel 6 Cases You Should Buy

Google Pixel 6 Pro

As disappointing as it is that Google doesn't include a case with the Pixel 6, the good news is that there are ample options to choose from. Google sells a pretty decent first-party case for both the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. It snaps on incredibly easily, comes in a few different colors, and combines a dual-layer design with raised edges for ample protection. At just $29, it's also a really good value.

There are also plenty of third-party Pixel 6 cases to choose from. Spigen, for example, makes a Tough Armor case that's usually available for $20 or less. It has a polycarbonate design, shock-resistance, and even a built-in kickstand on the back to prop up the Pixel 6 on a table. Another great choice is the Caseology Parallax case. It's available for just $15, offers good protection for daily use, and features a unique '3D Hexa Cube Design.'

Would it be great if the Pixel 6 came with a free case? Of course. Free things are always appreciated. However, if a free case isn't part of the equation, having plenty of first and third-party ones to choose from is the next best thing. And with many of them available for $30, $15, or less, it doesn't cost that much to give the Pixel 6 the protection it needs.
