The Google Pixel 4a is now available to pre-order and will go on general sale later this month. Priced at $349, the the Pixel 4a is a low-cost option for smartphone users. In addition to pre-ordering the Pixel 4a directly through the Google Store, consumers can also order the phone from a variety of major retailers, or through their cell phone carrier.

The Pixel smartphone line was first released in October of 2016, with the original Pixel and the Pixel XL. Pixel 4a rumors had been coming through for months and while Google didn’t make an official statement until now, the leaks hinted at a design similar to the previous model, the Pixel 3a. This was in addition to speculation that the device's starting price would be around $399. By July, what the Pixel 4a looked like became less of a guessing game after renders leaked via the Google Store. More recently, a puzzle was added to the Google Store and when solved, revealed the Pixel 4a release date as August 3.

The Pixel 4a will be available on August 20th, but customers can pre-order the phone right now from the Google Store. They also have the option to pre-order or purchase the phone via Amazon or Best Buy, or through their preferred carrier, such as Verizon. Pre-ordering the Pixel 4a also means customers gain access to a three-month free trial for YouTube Premium, Google Play Pass, and Google One. Buying through Verizon does increase the price to $379, or $15.83 a month, and if opting for Amazon, customers have the opportunity to buy the phone as it is or as part of a bundle with a case.

One of the easiest ways to order the Pixel 4a is through the Google Store. Once the pre-order button is selected, the user will have the additional option of buying the phone unlocked, through Verizon, or through Google Fi. A benefit of buying an unlocked phone is that the customer is able to purchase the phone immediately and activate it on their own time, including using it with a carrier other than Verizon. Google Fi is Google’s own phone plan so this will be an option for those looking for both a new phone and service. Through the Google Store, customers also have the option to add Extra Care protection for the device, for an additional $99. Alternatively, buyers can trade-in their existing phone through the Google Store to help lower the cost.

Speaking of which, for those looking to spread the cost, the Google Store's 'How to Buy' section covers two financing options - pay at once or make payments over a two-year period. If opting for the second route, then a payment plan can be set up which will result in a monthly payment of $14.54 for two years. As this is a credit-based option, it is subject to various terms and conditions, including credit approval. Of course, the Google Store is only one solution with the Pixel 4a already showing up on carrier and major retailer websites, making it fairly easy to pre-order and buy.
