Middleton, the small-town setting of Hallmark Channel TV series Good Witch, seems like the perfect place for romance. The streets are charming and full of beautiful trees, the Bistro Cafe is a great date spot, and Cassie Nightingale (Catherine Bell) will set up anyone who is meant to be together. Well, at least that's what everyone in town suspects. She is a good witch, after all, and she never admits to her powers.

There were several Good Witch films before the TV show and the characters' stories continue on the Hallmark show. Love always seems to be in the air on this sweet show, but while some seem made for each other, not every pair should be together.

Updated on August 2nd, 2021, by Lynn Gibbs: After years of telling Cassie Nightingale's stories of Middleton, The Good Witch season 7 will be its last season. Fans of the series have been dying to know Stephanie ends up with in the series and per the series finale, it looks like fans got their wish. But it's not just Stephanie and Adam who made a great couple throughout the series, Cassie and Sam did as well. But just as there are great couples, there are just as many couples who didn't connect with fans or make much sense.

Perfect: Martha And Tom

Martha (Catherine Disher) and Tom Tinsdale (Paul Miller) are a charming couple who have very similar personalities. When Tom announces that he's running for mayor against Martha in season 6, it's hilarious to see them compete with each other.

Hallmark fans love the romance and Martha and Tom have a great love story. They have been together a long time and even when they disagree, they seem committed to spending time together, like when they have a "Greycation" at Grey House.

Make No Sense: Grace And Nick

Grace (Bailee Madison) and Nick (Rhys Matthew Bond) almost date before becoming stepsiblings and many Good Witch fans would have loved for them to be together (if their mom and dad hadn't married, of course).

These two should never have even imagined that they could be a couple as they fight more than anything else. Instead of being cute tension that proves they're meant to be, their constant squabbling has the opposite effect. Nick always acts like he's so much cooler than Grace and she needs someone who respects her intellect.

Perfect: Abigail And Donovan

Abigail (Sarah Power) falls in love with Donovan (Marc Bendavid) despite the Merriwick-Davenport curse that says that members of each family can't be together.

The fact that they're willing to try dating despite the bad luck that they have says something about their love and connection. Donovan is really good for Abigail as she hasn't been able to really love anyone before him. He definitely changes her.

Make No Sense: Sam And Linda

Sam (James Denton) used to be married to Linda (Gabrielle Miller), and his ex-wife has done some awful things, which is proof that they shouldn't be together.

While these two find a way to get along now that Cassie and Sam are married and Linda stays at Grey House for Nick's graduation, things weren't always so amicable. Linda doesn't seem to want to be a hands-on parent as she likes to travel and she seems to care about work more than her son. That doesn't work for Sam, who is a great dad.

Perfect: Cassie And Sam

Cassie is the smartest Middleton resident and she definitely can tell that there's something special about Sam, the doctor who moves to town in season 1.

Cassie and Sam are a perfect couple on Good Witch as they get along so well and seem to really understand each other. Even though Cassie believes in holistic and natural remedies and Sam takes a more traditional approach, they respect each other's attitudes about life and medicine.

Make No Sense: Grace And Noah

James Rittinger's Good Witch character, Noah, becomes friendly with Grace through their mutual pal Nick and then the two start dating.

They don't seem like a logical pair, though, because Noah breaks up with Grace in a totally immature way: right before he's supposed to come home from college for a weekend visit. Grace doesn't deserve that treatment. These two don't seem to have a ton in common and it seemed like proximity was the reason why they dated.

Perfect: Brandon And Tara

Cassie's stepson Brandon (Dan Jeannotte) and his wife Tara (Ashley Leggat and Rebecca Dalton) are an adorable couple who has gone through a lot in their relationship but who remain committed to each other.

They started dating at a young age and stayed committed to each other through their various careers and dreams. Eventually, Tara started helping Cassie out at her store, Bell Book and Candle, and Cassie also gives them advice on any problems that they have. Sadly, the couple's appearance wasn't as consistent as the other characters.

Make No Sense: Nick And Courtney

It was an odd choice when Nick started dating Grace's friend Courtney (Alanna Bale). This was mostly because she could do so much better.

Courtney liked Nick from the moment that she meets him and when they start seeing each other, she wants them to spend a lot of time together. Nick freaks out and then dumps her because he finds her clingy, but really, anyone wants to hang out with their partner. Nick is too immature for Courtney, who is really smart and cool.

Perfect: Stephanie And Adam

Stephanie (Kylee Evans) falls for Adam (Scott Cavalheiro) after they meet in town, and he seems like the best potential love interest for this character.

Adam is a nice person and he supports Stephanie in her business, especially when she wants to start a food truck. While he might not have the most exciting personality out there, he's kind to her and he even thinks about asking her to marry him. They care about each other and will have a good future.

Make No Sense: Stephanie And Ben

Stephanie also tries to find love with Ben (Jefferson Brown) in the early seasons of Good Witch. He's not a great match for her, either.

Stephanie has to figure out what kind of partner she really wants and it doesn't seem like Ben checks off any boxes. He's not as funny or compelling as she is, and he doesn't seem to share her work ethic or business know-how, either.
