NBC's The Good Place is taking this Thursday off for Thanksgiving. The Good Place has become one of the most creative and most beloved comedies on TV today thanks to its constantly reinvented premise. Originally following Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell) after she was mistakenly sent to heaven instead of The Bad Place, it was revealed in season 1's jaw-dropping finale she, and her friends Chidi (William Jackson Harper), Tahani (Jameela Jamil), and Jason (Manny Jacinto) were in The Bad Place the entire time. Season 2 saw them - along with angelic demon Michael (Ted Danson) - attempt to get into the real Good Place.

The Good Place season 3 has flipped the script yet again, spending most of its time on Earth and giving Eleanor and friends an opportunity to prove themselves by living better lives than they did before. The latest season has moved at a pace, with each episode revealing another twist (the latest being that the points system to get into The Good Place may not even work). Although the biggest shocker for the Brainy Bunch is that they're taking two weeks off.

There is no new episode of The Good Place airing on Thursday, November 22. This is due to the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, which is causing multiple shows to take a hiatus. Internationally, this means the show won't be available on Netflix this Friday either. Even worse news, there will be no new episode of The Good Place airing on Thursday, November 29 either: the show is taking a two-week break and will return on Thursday, December 6.

It's not unusual for the big broadcast networks to take Thanksgiving off, as most Americans are busy spending time with their families, eating lots of turkey, and celebrating one of their country's most important holidays. It's unclear why there's a second week without a new episode for The Good Place, although it's likely influenced by bigger NBC scheduling concerns.

While The Good Place continues to air to almost universal acclaim, there's reason to wonder if season 3 will be the last. Ratings are down 25 percent in the 18-49 viewer demographic from what season 2 earned, and total viewership numbers are down 27 percent. It would be a shame if The Good Place doesn't return for season 4, but if it doesn't, hopefully, Schur and his team have crafted a season 3 finale worthy of possibly ending the story.
