Neil Gaiman teases Good Omens season 2 deleted scenes. An acclaimed fantasy author, Gaiman co-wrote Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, published in 1990, with the late Terry Pratchett. In 2019, Gaiman's on-screen adaptation of the novel, the fantasy comedy series Good Omens, enjoyed an acclaimed debut. Season 1 of the Prime Video series starred David Tennant and Michael Sheen in the leading roles. In 2021, the show was finally renewed for season 2, with many of its actors, along with Gaiman as showrunner, confirmed to return. Little is known about Good Omens season 2, which has wrapped filming, beyond the cast and release window, summer 2023.

Responding to a question about season 2 on Tumblr, Gaiman indicates that plenty of bonus content will be made available for fans of the series. When asked whether there would be a Good Omens season 2 blooper reel, he offera a similar response to when he was asked the same question about Good Omens season 1, stating that the cast and crew simply didn't "bloop" much. However, there will be plenty for viewers to chew on, as Gaiman states the series creators will be giving Amazon X-Ray, an exclusive Prime Video feature that offers additional information about a given piece of media, many deleted moments. See what he has to say below:

I don’t expect there will be a blooper reel, due to a disappointing lack of bloops. There will be many many extras – we are making sure that any deleted scenes or even deleted good lines of dialogue get given to Amazon X-Ray and can be clicked on and viewed.

What To Expect From Good Omens Season 2

Aziraphale and Crowley with wings and their backs to each other in Good Omens Season 2

Good Omens season 1 had just six episodes, and though it's not yet known how many episodes season 2 will have, it's likely the new season will run a similar length. Due to the infectious chemistry between the two main characters, the demon Crowley (Tennant) and the angel Aziraphale (Sheen), audiences were left wanting more after finishing Good Omens season 1, which the deleted scenes teased by Gaiman will certainly provide. Additionally, the series creator's mention that "even deleted good lines of dialogue" will be made available to viewers means that there is a possibility of more lines from the book making their way onto the screen in some form, which is exciting for fans of the charming novel's many witty lines.

In terms of story, while the source material for the series includes a satisfying ending, Gaiman and Pratchett had begun to collaborate on a sequel before Pratchett's passing. Some elements of Good Omens season 1 were pulled from that sequel idea, which will likely lay the groundwork for season 2. In addition, Gaiman has previously mentioned that the pair had planned to address "what happened next (and also, what happened before)" to Crowley and Aziraphale in the sequel, opening the door for more flashbacks in Good Omens season 2.

While actual plot details for Good Omens season 2 are slim, the upcoming season looks to be expanding the whimsical world of the series, adding new cast members for both the human and supernatural sides of the show. In previous comments, Gaiman teased that season 2 will be a major upgrade for the series now that season 1 has laid the foundation. He has also said that the Good Omens season 2 finale is his favorite episode so far, indicating that season 2 will only get better and end on a high note. In addition, the author has already hinted at season 3, an exciting prospect for Good Omens fans hoping the next installment won't be the last.
