Author and series creator and writer Neil Gaiman confirms that his Amazon Prime adaptation of Good Omens won't have a blooper reel released. Based on his and Terry Pratchett's 1990 fantasy comedy novel of the same name, the series centers on demon Crowley and angel Aziraphale, longtime acquaintances who seek to prevent the coming of the Antichrist and Armageddon after having grown accustomed to life on Earth. The cast for the series was led by Michael Sheen and David Tennant as the central duo alongside Adria Arjona, Miranda Richardson, Michael McKean, Jack Whitehall, Jon Hamm and Frances McDormand as the narrator and voice of God.

Gaiman had previously planned to develop a film adaptation of Good Omens with Pratchett for years before shifting to a potential series in 2011 from Terry Jones and Gavin Scott. However, after the death of his co-writer, Gaiman initially refused to ever consider writing an adaptation alone until a letter sent from Pratchett after his passing urged him to press on. Good Omens debuted to strong reviews from critics and audiences in 2019 and has since been renewed for season 2 with Gaiman, Sheen and Tennant all confirmed to return.

On the heels of announcing development on Anansi Boys at the streaming platform, one fan took to Gaiman's Tumblr to ask whether a blooper reel of Good Omens would see the light of day or if he remembered any funny mishaps from the set. The prolific author confirmed that no blooper reel exists as the cast never truly slipped up during production, though did recall one moment that made for a laugh. Check out what Gaiman revealed below:

Given its comedic sensibilities and the buddy duo at the center of its story, a blooper reel for Good Omens certainly seems like a feasible thing to ask for. While Gaiman's confirmation that no such reel exists as the cast "just didn't bloop" may come as a bit of a disappointment for some, it also should come as a testament to the talent of its cast and crew. Even the most serious of projects such as Game of Thrones or The Hobbit saw their cast create some rewarding blooper moments on set, let alone something as off-the-wall as Gaiman's series.

Despite this disappointment, however, fans still have a lot to look forward to from Gaiman and the Good Omens cast and crew in the near future. Between development on season 2 of the Amazon series to production currently ongoing for Netflix's The Sandman series, on which the author has confirmed plenty of "bloops," there's still plenty of potential fun to be had in Gaiman's unique worlds. In the meantime, audiences can revisit the intentional hilarity of Good Omens season 1 on Amazon Prime now.
