This Week in TV:

Kenan and Kel reunite on The Tonight Show; Amazon is streaming Mr. Robot exclusively; Steven Soderbergh planning a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' movie; Portlandia ending in 2018; Sleepy Hollow season 3 gets a new trailer; and FX renews Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll.

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell reunited on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform a new Good Burger skit.

Jimmy Fallon joined the two in a "flashback" to his time working at Good Burger alongside Ed the cashier (Mitchell). The character was debuted on the sketch show All That before Good Burger spun off into a feature film in 1997. Fallon and Mitchell performed plenty of callbacks to the film, including the return of Grape Nose Boy.

As great as it was to see Kel back in character, it was the moment that Kenan joined the sketch as Lester Oaks, construction worker (another All That character) that brought the sketch home. The live audience went crazy seeing these two actors reunited after so long, and both seemed ready to break character and laugh along with the crowd. Fallon has once again captured '90s nostalgia, as he did earlier this year by reuniting the cast of Saved by the Bell.

You can check out an extra behind the scenes look at the characters here.

Amazon has announced that they will exclusively stream the hit USA show Mr. Robot starting in Spring of 2016.

Christian Slater and Rami Malek in Mr. Robot Season 1 Episode 1

Mr. Robot tells the story of young programmer Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) who works as a cyber-security engineer. Alderson is also a vigilante hacker who is approached by Mr. Robot (Christian Slater), the leader of an underground hacker group known as fsociety, and asked to help bring down the company he works for.

Brad Beale, Amazon Vice President of Digital Video Content Acquisition, praised the show highly:

"'Mr. Robot' is one of the most compelling new dramas on television. Rami Malek delivers a mesmerizing performance and leads a great cast with an intriguing story full of dark twists. Prime members are going to love binging on this awesome show."

The show has earned plenty of praise, indicating that Beale's comments are more than just empty hyperbole. All ten episodes of the first season will be released on Amazon Prime simultaneously in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Austria, and Japan.

Steven Soderbergh, director of The Knick, is planning a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' movie called Mosaic at HBO.

steven soderbergh

There have been rumblings about Mosaic for a while now, but HBO and Soderbergh have remained silent about the mysterious project thus far. Rumors have indicated that Sharon Stone will be starring in the project and that it will feature multiple endings that viewers choose through an app.

There's still no official confirmation of these rumors, but Soderbergh released a statement to EW that seems to corroborate the project's structure.

"I believe the good people at HBO are genuinely enthusiastic about 'Mosaic' for two reasons. First, it represents a fresh way of experiencing a story and sharing that experience with others; second, it will require a new Emmy category, and we will be the only eligible nominee."

Second screen experiences are becoming increasingly common for all manner of content, from games to television shows. However, it's hard to gauge audiences' interest in participating in shaping the overall story.

We'll bring you more information about Mosaic as it becomes available.

Portlandia stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein have announced that their long-running series will end after its eighth season.

Portlandia Fred Armisen Carrie Brownstein

The pair announced the planned end date for their series while filming the sixth season of the IFC sketch-comedy show. The announcement comes as a bit of a surprise, as the series is only renewed through season seven, but Portlandia has been a big hit for IFC and will undoubtedly be renewed for the final season. It's currently the longest-running show on the network.

The series was created by Armisen and Brownstein, along with SNL writer/director Jonathan Krisel. Krisel was recently recruited by Louis C.K. and Zach Galifianakis to work on their upcoming series Baskets on FX. This gives Portlandia the opportunity to feature a number of guest directors in the upcoming season, including Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire).

Portlandia season six is expected to air in 2016.

Fox has released a new teaser for the upcoming season of Sleepy Hollow.

The work of the Witnesses is never done. After their heartbreaking victory over the forces of evil, Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) have tried to move on with their lives. Abbie is looking for the next step in her career, while Ichabod is trying to learn more about the modern United States outside of Sleepy Hollow. However, there's still evil in the world, waiting to challenge the pair in unexpected ways.

The studio also released a number of teaser images for the show, which can be viewed here and here. The upcoming season will be the first under new showrunner Clifton Campbell, who has promised large changes to the series. One such change was that the Headless Horseman wouldn't be making an appearance in the upcoming season (though he's clearly visible in the trailer).

Sleepy Hollow returns to FOX on Thursday, October 1st.

FX has renewed Denis Leary's Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll for a second season.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll

The series centers on Johnny Rock (Leary), the singer of a legendary rock band called The Heathens, who caused the group to break up as they were on the verge of stardom. 25 years after the incident, Rock's daughter Gigi (Elizabeth Gillies) brings the band back together to help write songs for her. The series also stars John Corbett, Elaine Hendrix, Robert Kelly and John Ales.

Leary released the following statement about the renewal:

"The only thing that could make me happier about this announcement is if David Bowie decided to be a guest star during season two. In which case, my head would explode. Hopefully on-camera so we get a kickass viral video out of it... I look forward to once again creating new episodes of television with John Landgraf's exceptional FX team. And scoring some cool 'Bastard Executioner' swag."

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll season 2 will air sometime in 2016.
