The former members of the Good Burger cast have changed a lot since the movie aired in 1997, and most have moved on to bigger prospects. However, in 2015, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell reunited to reprise their Good Burger roles in a sketch on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. This has fueled rumors about the rest of the Good Burger cast reuniting for a second movie, especially since the only follow-up made was a novel released in 1998 called "Good Burger 2 Go," the strange forgotten sequel to Good Burger.
The Good Burger movie is based on a series of sketches of the same name from the show All That, Nickelodeon's answer to Saturday Night Live. Upon release, Good Burger made just $23.7 million in the box office, which is technically still a success considering that the budget for the movie was just $8.5 million. Years later, Good Burger grew to cult status among those nostalgic for Nickelodeon's "golden era."
In related interviews, Good Burger cast leads Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell have both said that they're open to making a sequel. For now, however, there have been no official updates from Nickelodeon regarding the future of Good Burger 2. Whether the Good Burger sequel gets the greenlight or ends up scrapped like the Nickelodeon studio unmade live-action Prometheus and Bob movie, here's what the Good Burger cast has been up, what movies they've appeared in, and what they look like now.
Kel Mitchell - Ed
The star of the Good Burger cast, Ed is a loyal employee of the titular fast food restaurant. Kel Mitchell went on to appear in comedy movies like See Dick Run, Dance Fu, and Honeydripper. However, Mitchell's most recent and prominent roles have been in television series such as A Black Lady Sketch Show and Game Shakers. Out of the core Good Burger cast, Mitchell is the only one who has reprised his role as Ed in All That's 2019 and 2020 episodes.
Kenan Thompson - Dexter Reed
Slacker high school student Dexter gets a job at Good Burger and forges a strong friendship with Ed in the comedy movie. A member of the Saturday Night Live cast since 2003, Kenan Thompson is the longest-tenured SNL actor, and while comedian Pete Davidson has left SNL, Thompson has stayed on. He also appears in Snakes on a Plane, Home Sweet Home Alone, and Clifford the Big Red Dog. Most notably, he was also the lead in the series Kenan, which ran for 2 seasons.
Jan Schweiterman - Kurt Bozwell
Good Burger cast villain and owner of the rival Mondo Burger, Kurt Bozwell wants nothing more than to steal the recipe for Ed's secret sauce. After his role in the Good Burger cast, Jan Schweiterman had a long stint in the drama Felicity. He also appears in Fallen Arches and Along the Way, his last major film appearance.
Sinbad - Mr. Wheat
Mr. Wheat is Dexter's clumsy and accident-prone teacher in the world of the comedy movie Good Burger. Stand-up comic and actor Sinbad is best known for his roles in the series Rel, and also appears in the movies Cuttin Da Mustard and Stompin'. Younger audiences might recognize Sinbad's voice, which he lent to the character Mr. Smiley from the LGBTQ-friendly animated series Steven Universe.
Shar Jackson - Monique
Good Burger employee Monique is Dexter's love interest. Shar Jackson also appears in A Polished Soul, Reboot Camp, and Take a Stan. Jackson is most famous for her role as Niecy Jackson Hamilton in the series Kim and Niecy.
Dan Schneider - Mr. Bailey
As the restaurant's owner, the Good Burger cast answers only to Mr. Bailey. Occasional actor Dan Schneider was mainly a producer on Nickelodeon, and he has gone on to create and produce various other series. Though Schneider has no major film appearances, he has minor roles in series like iCarly, Drake & Josh, and The Amanda Show.
