Mina Starsiak of Good Bones recently started a new business expanding her home renovation empire into the retail space. As her mother Karen Laine has transitioned towards retirement, Mina has continually stepped out on her own. Two Chicks District Co. is her most recent endeavor, focusing on her passion for community transformation.

Running her own business isn't new for the TV star, as the family renovation business Two Chicks And A Hammer led directly to Mina and her mother landing the HGTV series. That family focus continued into the new business, with Karen helping to brainstorm the ideal look and goals for the space. While Good Bones largely focuses on extensive renovations to the structure of houses, interior design plays a big role in making a house feel like a home. Mina had that understanding in mind when she started Two Chicks District Co.

The new business is a retail store located in Indianapolis, featuring a wide selection of home goods. Opened in the summer of 2020, the pandemic uprooted the timeline for the store a bit, though it has now hit its stride. A wide range of products are available for customers to peruse, from throw pillows and coffee mugs to luxurious couches. The business has a "Find Your Vibe" motto so that anyone's design style can be represented in their products. However, lots of items fall under the signature modern bohemian style that Mina and Karen showcase on Good Bones. In addition to items for the home, Two Chicks District Co. also has beauty and clothing offerings. Keeping with the focus on the Indianapolis community, many of the items housed in the store are from local businesses and artists.

The shop further enriches the community by Mina's commitment to giving back to Indianapolis. As a part of the company's philanthropic efforts, a portion of sales at the store will go to the charity known under the name Two Chicks Give Back. This charity helps residents of the Bates-Hendricks neighborhood of Indianapolis, where the store and many episodes of Good Bones are located, keep up with rising property taxes. Most of the money allocated will go towards small property upkeep projects that homeowners might not otherwise have the means to maintain.

Investing in Indianapolis led to the success of Good Bones and Two Chicks District Co. is Mina's next step in her commitment to the city. Through the retail outlet, fans can take some of the magic from the HGTV series and bring it into their own homes. With just a year under the business' belt, their path forward has endless room for potential. And with a community focus at the center, it appears Two Chicks District Co. will only flourish from here.
