Netflix unveiled the King of the Monsters' design in Godzilla Singular Point. The upcoming anime series is highly anticipated among fans. It was announced in October last year, followed by a trailer teasing appearances from classic monsters.

Ten years ago, a Godzilla anime series seemed about as likely as the giant reptile taking on King Kong again. As one can see, times have changed. What was once the stuff of daydreams is becoming a reality. Godzilla Singular Point is the second anime project after the Planet of the Monsters movie trilogy. Unlike the latter, Godzilla Singular Point will be a 13-episode series. My Hero Academia's Studio Bones is producing alongside Studio Orange. A lot of the storyline is being kept under wraps. A second trailer was released earlier this month, showing more of the story while also building even more mystery, as Godzilla was absent from the footage. Unsurprisingly, this fueled speculation on if he will appear frequently or not. While Godzilla's screen time will likely remain a mystery, arguably something more important has finally been revealed.

Almost every new Godzilla continuity brings with it a new design for the iconic creature, and it's no different in Godzilla Singular Point. Netflix released a full shot of the character as he will appear in the upcoming anime series. Designed by Studio Ghibli animator Eiji Yamamori, Godzilla's design has familiarity while also looking unique. Check it out below.

Previously, only a headshot of Godzilla has been shown, so it's good to get the full version. Godzilla's face has a ferocity befitting the character. His dorsal plates return, although the combination of white and red is new. Perhaps the most notable aspect is he appears more dinosaurian than other Japanese incarnations. Considering Godzilla was a dinosaur once according to Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah's backstory, this certainly fits. It will be interesting seeing his movement and fighting style in the anime.

Interestingly, like Godzilla, Rodan also appears much more dinosaur-like than previous incarnations. One of the biggest questions is if Godzilla is aligned with the other monsters. Perhaps each episode has the characters dealing with a specific monster, and then Godzilla is the climax. This remains to be seen, but at least the design has been unveiled. Every Godzilla appearance brings something to the table, and Godzilla Singular Point's take on the character is undoubtedly fierce.
