A Godzilla Singular Point image has been released, giving a new look at the King of the Monsters. A new Godzilla anime was officially unveiled back in October, 2020 to much fanfare. The Netflix-bound show received a trailer later that same month, teasing appearances from classic Godzilla monsters. 2021 is a good year for Godzilla fans. In addition to the anime, Godzilla vs. Kong is scheduled to hit theaters and HBO Max in four months.

Godzilla Singular Point is hitting Netflix worldwide this year, and a few different things have already been revealed about the show. Studio Orange and Studio Bones are producing the hand-drawn/CG hybrid. Character descriptions have given fans a peek of what motivates the protagonists, such as Yun Arikawa specializing in robots. Speaking of robots, the trailer showed Jet Jaguar, along with what appears to be classic monsters from the films, including Rodan, Anguirus, and Gabara. A water monster speculated by fans to be Titanosaurus will also appear, but the actual plot is still on the mysterious side. Perhaps the biggest mystery is Godzilla himself; the show has yet to reveal if he will be an antagonistic force, a defender, or something in between.

Although Godzilla's persona is still a mystery, fans can get a new look at the character's design. Godzilla Singular Point has revealed a new visual of the King of the Monsters' appearance. Although not a full shot of the kaiju, it gives a good look at his face. Check it out below.

Simply put, Godzilla looks monstrous. It's distinctive from previous designs, but also a more traditional appearance than something like Shin Godzilla or the anime movie trilogy. Like the first promotional image for Godzilla Singular Point, red is the major stylistic choice. Interestingly, like most of the other monsters, the teaser for the anime shows Godzilla with some type of red mist.

Godzilla Singular Point looks more promising than not. Studio Ghibli animator Eiji Yamamori has designed the new Godzilla, and it's already impressive. The big question is how well written the storyline and characters are. A major criticism of the Planet of the Monsters trilogy is it strayed too far from what many fans enjoy about the live-action movies. New ideas are good, but only if they utilize a well-paced story with likable characters and quality action. If Godzilla Singular Point has all that, it should be a success.
