A fan video uses a meme from Kung Fu Panda to predict how Godzilla vs. Kong will end. Legendary's MonsterVerse began in 2014 with Godzilla, and now, two installments later, it is gearing up for its biggest film yet. For the first time since the controversial 1962 King Kong vs. Godzilla, cinema's most iconic monsters are going head to head on the big screen. Godzilla vs. Kong has been shuffled around numerous times on the release calendar - even yesterday, it was pushed back a week in March - but now it is finally two months away, and excitement is steadily building.

Godzilla vs. Kong will find the massive ape in search of his "true home," per the official synopsis. However, this puts him on a collision course with a rage-filled Godzilla, who is on a path of destruction around the world. The two are poised for an epic clash, and it's anyone's guess as to what will happen. The first trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong was finally released on Sunday, and it revealed something that took fans by surprise: Godzilla appears to be the bad guy here, despite being on humanity's side in 2019's Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Already, there's much debate over how Godzilla vs. Kong will end, with theories emerging all over. One such prediction comes from paleo_saurus on TikTok (via Nenorama), which uses a meme from the animated short Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Furious Five to hint that Godzilla might actually come through in the end and save Kong. Check out the video down below.

The previous MonsterVerse installments have cast both Kong and Godzilla in favorable lights, so this type of ending for Godzilla vs. Kong would bring Gojira back to the side of good. It would be an interesting turn for this brawl, but it might not be what audiences want. The reason King Kong vs. Godzilla was so polarizing was it did not choose a clear winner between the two; fans have been arguing about it for decades. Godzilla vs. Kong has the opportunity to actually settle this matter once and for all, and a gentler ending like the one suggested above might not be what people are looking for.

And yet, if the MonsterVerse intends to live on past Godzilla vs. Kong, perhaps an alliance between the two Titans will be necessary. The above theory doesn't necessarily mean the two will end up working together, but it would suggest there's a chance for peace between them. Seeing Godzilla and Kong actually working together would be quite the hook for a future movie, and an ending like the one in the video could lay the groundwork for that. It's an intriguing theory, and one that fans might see play out when Godzilla vs. Kong finally arrives in March.
