New character posters for the creatures Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidorah have been released for the upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters. A sequel to Gareth Edwards' 2014 film Godzilla - as well as the third film in Warner Bros. and Legendary Studios' connected MonsterVerse - Godzilla: King of the Monsters will feature more familiar creatures, following the first film's introduction of a brand new creature called M.U.T.O. (short for Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism).

The after-credits scene for Kong: Skull Island was the first tease for the kind of creatures Godzilla would square off against in his next movie. When the official plot synopsis for Godzilla: King of the Monsters was revealed, it confirmed that Godzilla would be fighting multiple Kaiju, including three of his most notable enemies: Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah. While these three creatures have been confirmed for the film, the second trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters seemed to hint that the film had at least two more monsters in store for fans - though the film's creative team is keeping their identities a secret. That said, new character posters for Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidorah have arrived.

First reported by Bloody Disgusting, Warner Bros. has released a new batch of character posters; but instead of focusing on the humans, these character posters show off the designs for Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidorah. The poster has the same style as Godzilla's poster that was revealed earlier this week, but these posters include the names of the creatures in the middle, with the title and slogan "Long Live the King" at the bottom. All three of these posters can be seen below.

While Godzilla will have his hands full with several different creatures (which are now officially titled Titans), Godzilla will face an even tougher opponent in 2020. Godzilla vs. Kong was officially announced back in 2015, and since then, the studios have been working hard to not only build the MonsterVerse, but prepare audiences for the showdown of the century. The filmmakers behind Godzilla: King of the Monsters have even started to hint at Godzilla vs. Kong by saying that Godzilla: King of the Monsters has "bread crumbs" leading to the two monsters' big battle. Godzilla even swam to Skull Island in the interactive Monarch Sciences website.

Even though it is a bit too early to tell how Godzilla: King of the Monsters will do at the box office, there is no denying that Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have done an incredible job of marketing their upcoming giant monster movie. Fans have now been treated to several posters for the film, along with the two trailers that were previously released. Given the massive fan base that has been following Godzilla since 1954, it's safe to assume that Godzilla: King of the Monsters will fill seats, especially since Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidorah are involved.
