A new fan-made trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters brilliantly showcases the destruction and the massive Kaiju that we could see in the upcoming sequel to 2014's Godzilla. Although principal photography on the Michael Dougherty movie wrapped last September, we have yet to see any actual footage or stills of the huge beasts in action. However, this clever mash-up may give fans an idea what to expect until the first official trailer arrives.

After Kong: Skull Island confirmed the existence of other monsters and Kaiju sharing the planet with puny humans, fans have been eager to see just who Godzilla would face in his next movie. With the huge backlog of monsters available to use from the many Toho studio films, the Monsterverse was spoiled for choice for supporting monsters in the 2019 sequel. But it's known that some of the most popular Japanese creatures will be making an appearance in the film, with viral marketing confirming at least the presence of Mothra and Rodan. Godzilla's greatest foe, the three-headed dragon King Ghidorah, is also known to be a large part of the plot. But there's currently no way to see how the US versions will rank alongside the Toho ones.

However, YouTube content creator stryder HD has made an entertainment-only trailer for the much-anticipated film. In the past, the channel has presented many mash-up and concept trailers, with a recent one pitting the Justice League against the X-Men. In this fictitious one for Godzilla: King of the Monsters, footage from Kong: Skull Island is expertly blended with scenes from the original Godzilla, along with multiple scenes from the many Toho monster movies over the years. The three-minute film also manages to include sequences from the recent Toho reboot Shin Godzilla, or Godzilla Resurgence as it's known in the US.

Godzilla 2014

While we still have no idea as to what to expect from the actual movie itself, this fan trailer inserts text and dialogue convincingly, as well as giving glimpses of the Toho versions of Mothra and Rodan. It also ends on the iconic roar from Godzilla, before showing King Ghidorah gearing up to take on the world. This could well be close to the actual film, as cast member O'Shea Jackson recently stated that the film would indeed contain an epic battle between the two monsters. For fans of the Japanese films, the trailer also shows some of the lesser known Kaiju like King Caesar, Anguirus, and Gigan.

While it's a lot of fun, and really whets the appetite for the main event, hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer for the official trailer. With a very strong cast including Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, and Sally Hawkins, the human characters should be able to hold their own against the city-trashing creatures. We'll bring you more news on Godzilla: King of the Monsters as we get it.
