Shared fans of God Of War and Red Dead Redemption 2 might be in for a special treat in this year’s God Of War: Ragnarok, as a new rumor hints that Roger Clark, the voice of Arthur Morgan himself, could be lending his talents to Santa Monica Studios’ upcoming sequel. More importantly, he could be voicing Thor, one of God of War: Ragnarok's rumored primary antagonists.

Indeed, the Norse god of thunder is mentioned quite frequently in 2018’s God Of War sequel/reboot, and he even makes a brief (though silent) cameo in the game’s secret ending. This has led fans to speculate that Kratos and Atreus will cross paths with Thor in God Of War: Ragnarok, with fan art of the Gods of War and Thunder battling it out already making the rounds on social media. Now, some are suggesting that if Thor does appear in the next God Of War, he might be sharing a voice with one of AAA gaming’s more recent and acclaimed characters.

As reported by Comicbook.com, Twitter user GermanStrands recently shared a screenshot from Red Dead Redemption 2 star Roger Clark's Instagram story, which shows an open invitation from Santa Monica Studios for auditions for God Of War: Ragnarok. This has led fans to wonder if Clark is looking to lend his voice to the game, with the most speculated role being discussed being that of Thor.

A relative newcomer to the world of video game voice acting (most of his prior roles were minor appearances in TV shows like The Wild West and Zero Hour), Roger Clark gained critical acclaim in 2018 for his turn as the former gang leader-turned-lone outlaw Arthur Morgan in Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 - a role that earned him Best Performance at the 2018 Game Awards and countless other nominations. Interestingly enough, before playing Morgan, he provided his voice to the Marvel motion comic Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers in 2011, though he didn't play Thor in that work.

So far, there’s no official confirmation that Roger Clark is voicing Thor in God Of War: Ragnarok, or if he’s even in the game at all. However, having him in God Of War: Ragnarok would be a treat for fans of his previous work in Red Dead Redemption 2, and the gruff edge he gave to Arthur Morgan would be a good fit for Thor. That would especially be the case since the previous God Of War game hinted at a far more villainous take on Thor than fans of his incarnations in works like the MCU are accustomed to. Plus, there’s the novelty of Arthur Morgan technically battling Kratos, which would be a meeting of characters and voices that would be practically unmatched in gaming.
