In God of War, players can find the Island of Light treasure as one of 12 collectible treasures in the game. In addition to finding all 12 God of War treasures to complete the set, the treasures are also full of valuable items. To find the Island of Light treasure in God of War, players will first need to locate the treasure map and discover the riddle and image indicating the treasure's location buried somewhere in the nine realms.
At the Lake of Nine in Midgard, not far from the Cliffs of Raven, during the lake's low water phase, God of War players will find the treasure map near the Mason’s Channel boat dock. This location is on the north side of the lake. Players will not be able to find the map if the water level has not been lowered, so they will need to progress through the main story of God of War until the water level is lowered to proceed.
To find the treasure map on the shoreline of the Lake of Nine near the rubble, players should dock the boat and look to the left, in the same vicinity as the Mystic Gateway and near the spot at which they can see the Njord’s Oarsmen statue. Once Kratos picks it up, the map can be viewed at any time under the Goals tab in the treasure map category.
Find the God of War Island Of Light Treasure
Once players have the map, they will read a clue that leads them to Light Elf Outpost where the God of War Island of Light treasure is hidden. To find the treasure, players should paddle to Light Elf Outpost, which is in the northwestern corner of the Lake of Nine, not far from where the map was found. Players should dock the boat and proceed on foot. Kratos will need to defeat the God of War enemies located at the Light Elf Outpost before they will be able to acquire the Island of Light treasure.
From the dock, players can travel up the light bridge that leads to the Nornir chest. Once at the chest, Kratos should turn around so his back faces the chest and take the small, stone-lined path on the right. This path requires Kratos to jump over a small gap in the water. Players should follow the path and turn right until they reach an iron gate. Before proceeding, if they have not already done so, players should also collect the contents of the Nornir chest in God of War.
If the iron gate is raised, players should walk forward until they find a small pile of rocks to indicate the buried treasure. If players are in the correct location, they should recognize the view of a cliff with a waterfall in the distance that reflects the image on the treasure map. If the gate is closed, players will need to circle the island and activate the light bridges. From there, Kratos can follow a path and drop down behind the gate using a chain to reach the treasure on the other side of the gate.
The Island of Light treasure contains a Rare Enchantment and Unyielding Cinders. This is a Legendary item used to upgrade axe pommels with burn damage. Additionally, the treasure has five Aegir's Gold, seven World Serpent Scale Fragments, and some Hacksilver that can be used to upgrade gear in God of War.
God of War is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and will be available for PC on January 14, 2022.
