God of War has four different difficulty selections that cater to everyone's playstyle, but no difficulty even comes close to the Give Me God of War option. While players can cycle through and alter their difficulty setting in-game for the first three God of War options, the Give Me God of War setting prevents players from being able to lower the difficulty in-game. If players choose to experience the God of War story with Kratos and Atreus at the hardest level, they'll have to complete the entire story on this difficulty or start a new game if it proves to be too much of a challenge.

Before beginning God of War (2018) on the Give Me God of War difficulty, players should really experience the game on a lower difficulty. Give Me God of War can prove to be repetitive in many combat situations, which often takes away from the God of War narrative. Players will undoubtedly die over and over again on this difficulty setting, which can lead to a disconnect from the story for those who have yet to play through it.

First and foremost, Give Me God of War requires players to heavily rely upon the Leviathan Axe's throwing skills in order to take down large groups of enemies. Some of the best God of War skills to upgrade first still apply to the Give Me God of War setting, but players will mainly want to focus on the Leviathan Axe and Guardian Shield upgrades in the beginning. The Freezing Throw, Freezing Burst, and Block Break skills are the perfect choices to upgrade first, as they strengthen the Leviathan Axe's ability to freeze and deal area-of-effect damage and break the guard of enemies.

During encounters where players are fighting both ranged and close-quarter enemies, it's best to take out the ranged enemies first. Though their attacks are often stronger, the ranged enemies typically have weaker defenses making them easier targets to eliminate early on. For large groups of melee-focused enemies, keep the focus on one enemy at a time by frequently using the Leviathan Axe Throw upgrades in God of WarGive Me God of War enemies will quickly regenerate their health and increase their power level after a couple of hits, making them that much more challenging to defeat if players choose to attack multiple enemies without finishing them off.

Parrying is absolutely essential in Give Me God of War as well, as the mechanic allows Kratos to knock back any opponents in a given area. Even holding down the block button doesn't provide much help, as a second enemy is usually around for a follow-up attack. The enemies hit harder in Give Me God of War, which is why it's essential that players can master the timing of a Guardian Shield parry early on.

Lastly, there are many essential God of War beginners tips and tricks that still apply to the Give Me God of War difficulty. Loot as much as possible and explore every area to earn more XP and Hacksilver. The more XP players receive, the sooner they'll be able to invest in more ability upgrades. Likewise, the more Hacksilver players can acquire in God of War, the more gear upgrades players will be able to purchase for both Kratos and Atreus during their Give Me God of War playthrough.
