The Game Awards were held on Dec. 8, and while God of War Ragnarök may not have won Game of the Year as some players had hoped, it did manage to win more awards than any other game. Fans of the franchise also learned more exciting news that Amazon has begun to work on a live-action adaptation of the 2018 God of War game.
Kratos and many other characters will soon be seen in live-action for the first time. One of Kratos's primary companions in the series and more specifically in Ragnarök is the goddess Freya, the former wife of Odin. As such, it's no wonder she has some incredible skills in the game.
12 Root Snare - 1000 XP To Unlock

This is one of the best skills to get for Freya early on and will have Freya summoning vines to grab any enemies that Kratos may have knocked down.
While this can already be a useful skill as is, Root Snare takes it one step further by releasing a cloud of poison that will inflict more damage over time to the enemy. This skill will kill weaker enemies more swiftly, but it's a great skill to use against tougher opponents who may not go down so easily without Root Snare.
10 Goddess Aggression - 1000 XP To Unlock
Freya's Valkyrie skills are arguably the best she can get in the game and Goddess Aggression is the first skill that players should unlock for Freya. This skill will make Freya more aggressive, which is definitely more than welcome.
This will increase how frequently she charges enemies and even manage to parry their attacks. This skill will be handy in almost any sort of fight and there's no risk for her to go in head on given that she has no health bar.
9 Valkyrie Heart - 2000 XP To Unlock
Freya's Valkyrie Form is incredibly efficient and is when Freya is at her strongest. Players will remember encountering her as one of the few god bosses in God of War Ragnarök when she has the name Vanadis.
This is the form she takes with skills like Valkyrie Heart where she rises into the air in this form and slams into the ground at enemies. When she does this, the enemies will fling backward in a launch, potentially throwing them from cliffs.
8 Sonic Resonance - 2000 XP To Unlock
Sonic Resonance is also one of the best Atreus skills in GoW Ragnarök. This is a passive skill and allows Freya to use Sonic arrows at their full potential.
Sonic explosions from her arrows are nothing new, however, with Sonic Resonance the enemies nearby will be applied with Sonic after every explosion. This allows a wide range of strategies that can cause explosion after explosion far more easily.
7 Hex Reignition - 2000 XP To Unlock
Sigil Arrows are incredibly effective and Hex Reignition adds a completely new effect that will allow the player to create new inventive strategies.
Sigil Arrows will Hex enemies when they strike and with Hex Reignition, if an elemental attack is used to explode the Hexed enemies then there will be a follow-up explosion to try and damage more enemies nearby. This is a great strategy to use in tandem with Kratos's best weapons in God of War Ragnarök like his Leviathan Axe to deal Frost or his Blades of Chaos to deal Burn.
6 Goddess Focus - 4000 XP To Unlock

While Goddess Aggression is far more about close-range attacks, Goddess Focus is the opposite and improves Freya's attacks aimed at enemies who are afar.
This might be an enhancement or improvement to specific arrows she's using and can even have her var her attacks differently than what the player might specifically command. It's a pricey skill to unlock and not as essential as some of her other Valkyrie skills but is still one of the best that players should want.
4 Valkyrie Blade - 5000 XP To Unlock
Freya is one of the best-portrayed gods in God of War Ragnarök and her usage as a companion makes her even better. Players will need to pay attention to the battle if they want to use Valkyrie Blade, and it isn't a bad idea to practice several times to get the skill down well.
When Kratos sends an enemy flying backward, a prompt to press square will appear above Freya. If the player presses this, Freya will dash toward the enemy and strike them with high damage. This is an incredibly powerful and useful skill that can change the tide of any battle almost immediately.
3 Arrow Empowerment III - 5000 XP To Unlock
Arrow Empowerment III is a relatively simple and straightforward skill, but that doesn't make it worth anything less than the other skills. Players should definitely strive for this skill as soon as they can because it will make many battles far easier.
It increases the damage every Runic Arrow fired by Freya to a significant degree. While it does cost 5000 XP (Arrow Empowerment I will cost 500 and Empowerment II will cost 1500) it is a skill that can be focused on as soon as Freya is unlocked.
2 Entangled Grip III - 5000 XP To Unlock
Entangled Grip III is the perfect skill to use in tandem with Root Snare. While Root Snare will already create a poison cloud that will apply Poison to enemies, Entangled Grip III will as well to any enemies rooted by Freya's vines, which is what the initial skill of Entangled Grip will do to enemies while Entangled Grip II will increase the duration of this skill.
This will make enemies guaranteed to be greatly affected by Poison and will help cause a quick victory for whomever Kratos and Freya are up against.
1 Vines of Exile - 5000 XP To Unlock
Vines of Exile is another Vanir Magic skill that utilizes the power of the earth to Freya's advantage. This skill will have Freya gripping weaker enemies with her vines and throw them across the battlefield.
This is the ideal skill to use near cliffs as Freya's vines will fling enemies off to their doom. This skill won't activate around stronger enemies, but it is a good way to take down the weaker ones, especially when there is a horde of enemies.
