Goat Simulator 3 showcased its first gameplay trailer at Gamescom 2022, demonstrating how it would innovate upon the original's core mechanics and show off more about the new setting. In a hilarious video, it not only confirmed that it would keep the light-headed and funny atmosphere of its predecessor but expanded on what made it so great and what new mechanics it would feature. Despite many wondering if the original even needed a sequel, Goat Simulator 3's trailer points to it being an incredibly unique experience.

Developed by Coffee Stain North, Goat Simulator is a sandbox game about a goat causing chaos in various settings. But, due to its lack of a proper story or fixed objective, players weren’t expecting a sequel. But, in the Summer Game Fest, Goat Simulator 3 was officially announced and had fans confused about why it’s not Goat Simulator 2 and what the most significant changes from its predecessor would be. Finally, a few months after the hilarious announcement that poked fun at Dead Island 2’s state of development, new mechanics and settings were revealed, pleasing old-time players and preparing these games for a revival in popularity.

Goat Simulator 3’s gameplay trailer from Gamescom 2022 was hilariously chaotic and drew plenty of attention to the game. In addition, it introduced plenty of new content, such as a new online cooperative mode where up to 4 people can play together and a newly added variety to the selection of characters, combined with their customization. Because of this, it presents players with plenty of new content while keeping the feeling from the original game intact, having plenty of potential as a sequel. Even though its reveal at Gamescom, along with Dead Island 2’s release date, was unfortunate, given it mocked the other for not having a proper release date, it seems that the new Goat Simulator will be even better than the original.

Goat Simulator 3 seems like it will provide players with new ways to create chaos in its environments. Not only are there new areas and new mechanics to be uncovered, but there will also be other playable characters with the sole goal of destroying as much of the new settings as possible. Two other significant innovations to the original were the implementation of new activities surrounding driving cars and the ability to fully customize each goat's appearance. Games like Stray prove that players want to be annoying, and it seems that there are plenty of options available to do so in Goat Simulator 3.

Besides the improvement in graphics and animation, Goat Simulator 3 also introduces more mini-games for players to enjoy. In addition, the trailer reveals new activities such as painting objects in the town, playing soccer, racing in cars, and operating a cannon. Combined with the expanded online cooperative mechanic, which allows for four different players, this is another excellent addition to the game, allowing for people to be hooked on it.

Goat Simulator 3 can be better than its predecessor in many ways. It has great mechanics and innovates upon the premise of the original without making it too serious or unrecognizable. It has the potential to be a proper revival of the original's popularity; judging by the fact that Goat Simulator was a free PlayStation Plus game and the gameplay trailer itself, this might be Coffee Stain North's goal.
