Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star, famously shortened to Glow Up, aired its third season in 2021. The makeup artist series has done quite well, particularly with Dominic Skinner and Val Garland as the judges. Every episode showcases unique challenges for competitors, from doing makeup for models to drag makeup to personally inspired looks. After Sophie was crowned, Glow Up season 4 winner, Yong-Chin Breslin won the competition. However, there's a desire to get an update on Sophie, who won Glow Up season 3.

Glow Up's Sophie Has Been Keeping Busy Creating New Looks

Glow Up season 3 originally aired from April 20 to June 8, 2021. Since winning the show, Sophie has been posting new makeup looks on her Instagram. Notably, she’s done various clown-inspired looks, which were part of a series. Sophie also did Cruella-inspired makeup following the Disney movie’s release, along with an abundance of Halloween-inspired special effects looks. Sophie graduated from The Arts University Bournemouth in the Makeup for Media and Performance program. Most recently, Sophie posted about working on the Doctor Who Christmas special.

Sophie Is An Advocate For Autism

On and off the screen, Sophie has been candid about being a person with autism. She first shared she was autistic with a mask-like look which represents how autistic women tend to hide behind a mask in their day-to-day life. Sophie also conquered her fear of public speaking during the virtual masterclass challenge on Glow Up. Her challenge was to create “a look to make a statement” for the final brief on Glow Up. Sophie based her makeup on coping mechanisms that help her feel unstoppable, using crystals and aromatherapy for comfort.

Like Glow Up season 2 winner Ophelia, she spoke about her journey on the show after winning. “I got such a good response,” the MUA told BBC UK about her autism journey on the show. She continued, “There were so many young girls who messaged me saying they now understand themselves a bit better and a few people got diagnoses since seeing me on the show. People with autism are still quite a hidden group in society.

Sophie is an inspiration on Glow Up, and in the world of makeup and a role model for many. She’s managed to graduate from a reputable arts program, share her journey with autism, and win a prestigious makeup competition that featured new twists and a new host in Glow Up season 3, all before 23 years old. Good things are coming for this Glow Up star.
