The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (aka. GLOW) are back this summer, and Netflix shared a first look at what they're up to in season 3 in addition to the premiere date. The first two seasons of the '80s-set comedy followed estranged friends Debbie Eagan and Ruth Wilder as they began making the show-within-a-show, GLOW. The show also features Sam, an unsuccessful movie director, and Bash, the show's producer and announcer. After two seasons of setbacks, the wrestlers and behind-the-scenes team finally got a break with an offer for a Las Vegas residency. The end of the season 2 finale saw everyone involved in GLOW boarding a plane to take advantage of their new opportunity.

Unlike its show-within-a-show, GLOW has been critically acclaimed since its first season and has racked up numerous nominations and awards. The show got a 2018 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series and an Outstanding Supporting Actress nomination for Betty Gilpin. Last year's Golden Globes saw a Best Actress Television Series Musical or Comedy nomination for Alison Brie. The show has also received many other Emmy, SAG, and Critics' Choice nominations.

Netflix shared some details from season 3 of the popular comedy, which will find Zoya the Destroya, Liberty Belle, and their fellow wrestlers start their show in Vegas. Not only that, Netflix describes the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling as "ready to take Las Vegas by storm!" The streamer also confirmed that season 3 will be available August 9, keeping with their tradition of releasing new episodes in the summer. In addition to the first look images, which are available below, Netflix also shared a synopsis of the new season:

Season 3 follows the ladies of GLOW as they take the Vegas strip by storm. Now headliners at the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino, the women quickly realize Sin City is much more grind than glitter. Ever the team cheerleader, Ruth's passion for the show begins to take a backseat to her growingly complicated personal life. Debbie is making headway as a producer, but continues to be consumed with guilt over the distance between her and her son. As their residency wears on, the lines blur between performance and reality, and the cast find themselves struggling with their own identities both in and outside of the ring.

GLOW stars Brie, Gilpin, Marc Maron, and a host of other actresses who round out the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. Prior to starring in GLOW, Brie was best known for playing Annie Edison on NBC and Yahoo!'s critical darling Community. Meanwhile, Gilpin broke out in the last three seasons of Nurse Jackie and also had a part in this year's Isn't It Romantic with Rebel Wilson. For his part, Maron is a long-time stand-up comedian who's also known for his popular podcast WTF with Marc Maron.

The images released by Netflix prove that GLOW intends to make the most of the show's move to Vegas. They show the characters cheering for Liberty Belle at a casino and taking in their names on the Fan-Tan Hotel's marquee. After two seasons of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling struggling to make their show popular, it's the perfect time for their big break. Plus, the buzzy change in scenery probably won't hurt GLOW's ratings, which are always a concern. It's a win for both Netflix and fans of the show.
