The first season of Netflix's hit series, Ginny & Georgiaends with a bang - literally. Aside from the fireworks that go off during the mayoral election and the revelations about Georgia's character, the series leaves a few other loose ends to explore in season 2. With a confirmed renewal, the show will be back for a second season to continue Ginny and Georgia's stories.

At the end of the first season, Georgia is engaged to the newly re-elected mayor while a private investigator is on her tail. Ginny has left Wellsbury with Austin in tow, leaving her own relationships with Marcus and MANG up in the air. However, the central relationship of the series is between Ginny and Georgia, whose separation will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the story.

MANG Reconciles

The friendship between Max, Abby, Norah, and Ginny is one of the most toxic relationships in Ginny & Georgia, but they do offer each other support when they need it. The end of season 1 sees MANG dissolve as Max learns about Ginny and Marcus's relationship and that Abby knew about it before she did.

Ever the peacemaker, Norah decides to stay out of the conflict. It appears that she's still friends with Max, but she's usually closer to Abby, who is all alone after the group's separation. Ginny tries to fit in with Bracia's friends, but it's clear that she doesn't feel like she belongs with them. It would be nice to see a healthy, organic female friendship blossom between these four girls in season 2 - all four of them could use some true friends.

Austin's Issues Are Addressed

Of all the main characters, Austin is perhaps the most neglected in the show. His struggles are overlooked by his own family, and the only person he appears to bond with is Paul, who is almost a stranger to him. When he's on his own, Austin makes some questionable choices, like stabbing a classmate with a pencil or skipping school for weeks at a time.

It's obvious that Austin has some psychological issues, likely the result of being raised by a volatile parent who doesn't always set the best example. When Ginny mails Austin's letters to his biological father, Georgia expresses her shock, hinting at another dark secret in her life. The relationship between Austin, Georgia, and her mysterious ex-lover could also come into play in season 2, which would add some interesting backstory and potential new character dynamics.

Marcus And Max See Eye-To-Eye

In almost every scene they share, Max and Marcus bicker about something. The twins could hardly be more different from one another: Max -- extraverted, spotlight-loving, self-obsessed, and Marcus -- enigmatic, brooding, and lonely. Ginny is drawn to both of them for different reasons and is often the reason the siblings argue.

The only time Max and Marcus get along is when Max is drunk and on the verge of unconsciousness. With Ginny gone - at least temporarily - the siblings could reconcile and maybe even bond over what they've gone through. After all, both have been heartbroken not only by Ginny but also by the loss of other romantic and platonic relationships.

Zion Reunites With His Children

Zion takes a picture of ginny - ginny & georgia

At the end of season 2, it seems fair to assume that Ginny and Austin are on their way to Boston - to Zion. He doesn't get much of a chance to be a father to Ginny in season 1, so perhaps Ginny will decide to leave Georgia's care and live with Zion in a more permanent way.

Zion doesn't have enough screentime in season 1 to determine whether or not he is capable of being a good, reliable father. If Ginny and Austin move in with him, will he be able to provide the care they need? His relationship with Austin is very surface-level in season 1, so this could be another new dynamic to explore in the next season.

Georgia & Zion's Relationship Evolves

For much of the first season, it's unclear whether or not Georgia really does love Zion or not. She refers to him as her "penguin," which implies that they'll always share a loving connection - loving, but not necessarily romantic. Zion, on the other hand, seems to believe that they'll always come back to each other, even though he's often the one to bail.

At the end of the season, the two part ways amicably, but it feels like there's still a lot of room left for their relationship to evolve. It's unlikely that this couple will ever reunite romantically, but they could at least come to an agreement on their co-parenting methods. Ginny and Austin desperately need stable, loving parents, but Georgia and Zion are trying to tackle their own deep issues that they aren't always able to keep up with their children's problems.

The Georgia & Joe Continues

Joe Leans Across the counter of Blue Farm to talk to Georgia in Ginny and Georgia

One of the most likable characters of Ginny & Georgia is Joe, the manager of Blue Farm Cafe. He and Georgia instantly form a connection, but both of them deny it because of their different social classes.

Through flashbacks, it's revealed that the pair met when they were much younger. Along with their easy rapport, their reunion so many years after their first missed connection seems to indicate that these two are meant to be. Joe almost confesses his feelings for Georgia at the end of season 2, but it's hard to envisage the pair as a romantic couple in their current stages of development.

Georgia Is Exposed

Private Investigator Gabriel Cordova speaks to Ginny at Blue Farm Cafe in Ginny & Georgia

The first half of season 1 makes Georgia's evasion of the law almost comedic, but the backend of the season focuses on the suspicion rising around her. Her own children begin to turn against her after learning of the horrifying things she's done, and her sister has hired a private investigator to bring her down.

At the end of the season, it's clear that Gabriel knows Georgia is guilty - and she doesn't try to deny it. However, he lacks evidence. At some point, Georgia's past acts are going to catch up with her, but what may be more important for her character is how she takes accountability for her parenting. She justifies her actions as being for her children, but a lot of the time, she isn't a great parent. Season 2 could see her accept her parenting mistakes and mend her relationship with her children.

Ginny & Marcus Find Resolution Or Closure

As one of the core relationships of season 1, Marcus and Ginny's dynamic evolves significantly across the 10 episodes. By the end of the first season, it's obvious that they reciprocate each other's feelings, but they don't get the chance to be together as a couple and neither do they confirm that they are, in fact, in a relationship.

Ginny seems satisfied with how she leaves Marcus, but he doesn't yet know that she's gone. He assumes that they'll be able to talk things over, but Ginny's departure from her idyllic life in Wellsbury makes this unlikely. Their relationship could go either way in season 2, but some kind of resolution seems necessary. The end of season 1 gives them no real closure, and their relationship certainly has a lot of potential for development.

Ginny And Georgia's Reunion

The finale of season 1 sees Ginny riding Marcus's motorbike into the night with Austin. She has just destroyed incriminating evidence that could have lead to Georgia's arrest, but she also knows that she and Austin aren't safe under her roof. This leaves their relationship in an interesting place and guarantees an even more interesting reunion between the two.

Assuming that Ginny and her mom do reunite in season 2, the story could unfold in any number of ways. Even though Ginny knows her mom has done some bad things, she still loves her and acknowledges that she's picked up many of Georgia's traits. But at the end of season 1, Georgia seems so focused on her own agenda that it's hard to imagine what kind of reaction she'll have to Ginny's departure.

Georgia's Redemption

If Georgia does take accountability for her past immoral decisions, redemption could be on the cards for Georgia's future. Her character journey hasn't arced yet, and at the moment, it looks like this will be a slow process if it does happen. The most likely route for her growth will be one of redemption.

Her children have turned against her, and when Paul and Zion learn of the extent of her actions, it's only a matter of time before they condemn her, too. In season 1, Georgia also loses Ellen, her only real friend. Being so used to power, it'll be interesting to see Georgia helpless and trying to get back into other people's good graces.
