Netflix reveals the first look at Ginny & Georgia season 2 with new images teasing the show's return. Created by Sarah Lambert, the coming-of-age dramedy debuted on Netflix nearly 2 years ago in February 2021. Starring Antonia Gentry as defiant yet mature teenager Ginny and Brianne Howey as semi-dysfunctional single mother Georgia, the series follows the family after they move to the picturesque New England town of Wellsbury, Massachusetts. Ginny & Georgia season 1 saw Georgia attempt to provide Ginny and her younger half-brother, Austin (Diesel La Torraca), with a more stable home life after constantly moving throughout their childhoods.

Now, after a long hiatus, Netflix unveils the first look images at Ginny & Georgia season 2. The production delay most likely had to do with the COVID-19 pandemic, which hit just after Ginny & Georgia wrapped filming on season 1. The new photos tease Marcus Baker's return as Felix Mallard, Scott Porter as Mayor Paul Randolph, and Chelsea Clark as Norah. Check out the first look at Ginny & Georgia season 2 below:

Everything We Know About Ginny & Georgia Season 2

Ginny & Georgia left plenty of material to cover in season 2, as season 1 ended on a major cliffhanger. Despite Georgia's best attempts to keep her past and the circumstances behind the mysterious death of her ex-husband Kenny buried, the case is uprooted by private investigator Gabriel Cordova (Alex Mallari Jr.). The season finale saw it all come to a head when Cordova informs Ginny that her mother killed Kenny. Georgia, gleefully unaware of the situation, is off celebrating her engagement to Randolph while Ginny burns down their home in disbelief at what she's just learned. While Georgia killed Kenny out of self-defense, as he was sexually abusive, Ginny's fear takes over, and she runs away with Austin, destroying her mother's plans of a normal life.

As the Ginny & Georgia season 1 finale saw the siblings making their great escape, the new pictures reveal Ginny's return home to Wellsbury. While it's unclear if Austin is back, and when exactly they return in the new season, a previous cast announcement suggests where they take cover while on the run. Smallville's Aaron Ashmore has been cast as one of Georgia's exes and Austin's dad, Gil Timmins. This could mean they take shelter with him while they decide how to approach returning home to Wellsbury. However, it's also possible that Zion (Nathan Mitchell), Ginny's father, will take the children in.

While additional plot details are being kept under wraps, it appears the events of the season finale have calmed down, and Ginny & Georgia's lives are back to somewhat normal. While behind-the-scenes photos have revealed Georgia's wedding plans coming to life, it seems more important matters will need to be addressed before she can have her happy ending. In addition to her children discovering her past, Georgia will also need to contend with her fiancé, Mayor Randolph. With the premiere in sight and new first look photos freshly released, a trailer for Ginny & Georgia can't be too far off in the future, and viewers will have a better idea of what they can expect from the highly-anticipated season 2.
