In 2016, almost 10 years after the end of the original series, Netflix released a reboot to the hit WB series Gilmore Girls called Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. The four-episode series continues the stories of Lorelai, Rory, and the rest of the cast as they moved in or out of Stars Hollow.

The show did a great job of updating viewers where everyone ended up and what they've been doing. The main characters had been through a lot in their personal and professional lives in the last decade and fans couldn't wait to see where their favorites ended up.

Logan Huntzberger

In the episode "Winter," fans are re-introduced to Logan. The wealthy playboy was living and working in London. In addition, he and Rory shared a clandestine romantic arrangement. Whenever Rory was in London, she stayed with Logan. The two were clearly still in love with each other but neither could fully commit to a stable and healthy relationship.

Fans soon learn in "Spring" that Logan is engaged to a French heiress, Odette. Rory tried keeping her emotional side for Logan at bay but he was the first one she thought to go to when her career hit a wall. In "Fall," Rory and Logan had one final night together before they ended things for good. They shared some of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life's best romantic quotes before Logan said goodbye and headed off to London.

Paris Geller

Fans loved the fact that Paris and Rory were still close friends in the revival. She first appeared in "Winter" as the owner of the fertility lab that Lorelai and Luke visited, Dynasty Makers. Paris earned both her medical and her law degree and is now happily helping patients create their dream families.

Sadly, Paris admitted that she and Doyle (who now have two kids) are getting a divorce after they've drifted apart as adults. Doyle became a screenwriter who traveled a lot for work and the two rarely saw eye to eye. Given her impressive intelligence and imposing drive to succeed, it is not a surprise to find Paris is wealthy and incredibly successful at the end of A Year in the Life.

Dean Forrester

The last fans saw of Dean in the original series was when he broke up with her at Richard and Emily's after realizing they were different people on different pages. Gilmore Girl fans had questions about what happened to Dean afterward and if he'd make an appearance in the revival.

Finally, in the last episode "Fall," Rory bumps into Dean at Doosey's Market. Dean mentions that he lives in Scranton, is married with three kids, and has another baby on the way. He looked startled seeing Rory but was overall in a better place in his life without her. It was cathartic for some viewers to see Rory give her first love a proper goodbye.

Emily Gilmore & Richard Gilmore

It was realistic that the writers for A Year in the Life that Richard Gilmore had passed away heart troubles because the actor, Edward Herrmann, died in 2014 from brain cancer. Richard had also suffered heart issues throughout the original series, so his death wasn't that shocking.

Glimpses of Richard's funeral were shown, with each Gilmore girl looking devastated. Emily had to now get through life without her partner. It took Emily some time, but she eventually let go of her strict rituals and loosened up. She let her maid's family move in and went to Nantucket for a new life by the sea. Now that Emily had a house of her own, she appeared more comfortable and relaxed as she ventured into this new part of life.

Michel Gerard

In "Winter," fans learn that Michel is still working at the Dragonfly Inn and married to a man named Frederick. The two were looking to start a family, but he dropped a bomb in "Summer." Michele was offered another job at the W Hotel where he'd get more money and be more appreciated. He asked Lorelai if there was any chance of expanding the Dragonfly Inn because then he'd have more to do and possibly make more money, but Lorelai wasn't interested.

The two didn't want to part but it was best for Michel's career. However, in "Fall," Lorelai changed her mind and asked for a loan from Emily as a way to expand the inn. This could have been a hint that a sequel to Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is coming if Lorelai plans on expanding her business.

Sookie St. James

Sookie wasn't shown as much in the reboot as fans would have liked, but there was so much to catch up on that her absence was filled with more dramatic storylines. In "Winter," it was revealed that Sookie took a sabbatical to learn more techniques with food. An episode later in "Spring," viewers saw Sookie's husband Jackson who claimed she was doing great on the organic farm. Sookie eventually makes a brief appearance in "Fall" while baking cakes in the kitchen. She and Lorelai were still best friends and she was still energetic and talkative in the kitchen — just like the Sookie fans remembered.

Jess Mariano

The return of Rory's former friend and boyfriend, Jess, made fans tear up with some of the saddest quotes in Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. The last time the audience saw him, he was begging Rory to give him a second chance and to run away together. Rory denied his advances and he disappeared from his former beau's life.

He finally made an appearance in "Summer," when he visited Rory at the Stas Hollow Gazette's office. He was in town visiting Luke and thought he'd say hi. The two were on friendly terms and presumably caught up before because they were comfortable with one another. Rory told Jess all about the rut she was in, which is when he gave her the idea to write a book about something she was passionate about. By the end of the reboot, Jess looked longingly at Rory through the window of her home, giving fans hope that they could rekindle their romance.

Lane Kim

Gilmore Girls fans loved seeing Lane and Zach thriving in the revival. Lane, Zach, and their two kids moved into Sookie's old house. Zach was recently promoted and Lane and Rory were still best friends. Not much was said about Lane's professional life, but she and Zach were still playing music together and their downtime, proving she never strayed from her passion.

Rory Gilmore

Some Gilmore Girl fans would say that Rory got worse and worse after following her storyline in A Year in the Life. She was freelancing, trying to find work, had nowhere to live, and didn't have a car. Her love life was also in ruins as she was dating a man named Paul for two years (and kept forgetting about him) and was having an affair with an engaged Logan. Rory has been in brilliant publications like The New York Times but she wasn't the traveling journalist she wanted to be.

By the end of the revival, Rory was on her way to writing a book based on her life with her mother called Gilmore Girls. And in the stunning cliffhanger finale to the series, Rory revealed she was pregnant, mimicking her mother getting pregnant at a young age out of wedlock.

Lorelai Gilmore & Luke Danes

At the beginning of A Year in the Life, Lorelai and Luke were still engaged and living at her house. She was still running the Dragonfly Inn and Luke was still managing Luke's Diner. Lorelai's relationship with her mother was at an all-time low when Richard passed away and they attempted therapy together. And while their therapy sessions didn't go well, they eventually came to an understanding after Lorelai traveled out West to meditate.

She had a lot to process between her stilted relationship with Luke, not having more kids and her tenuous bond with her mom. But she finally became clear-headed and committed to marrying the love of her life. By the end of "Fall," she and Luke had a spontaneous wedding and exchanged vows.
