With so many pop culture bombs dropped and character developments being built, there's a lot that can be missed by fans (which prompts rewatch after rewatch). The more fans rewatch the series, the more lesser-talked-about moments appear. Underrated moments are what made the series so fulfilling. And luckily, Gilmore Girls headed to Reddit to talk about their favorite undervalued scenes.

When Rachel Thanks Lorelai For Prepping Luke

Before there was Lorelai and Nicole, there was Rachel. For a long time, Rachel was the woman who got away from Luke. But when Rachel came back into town for a second chance at love, Luke fell for her charm.

Rachel sensed there was something between Luke and Lorelai but ignored it for a bit. But by end of the first season, Rachel thanked Lorelai for encouraging Luke to give her another chance. It was then that Lorelai realized she may have made a mistake but had no choice but to support her friend.

When Luke Was Waiting For Lorelai To Help Him Paint

However, when Christopher joins their family dinner, all hell breaks loose and Lorelai and Christopher ended up spending the night together. She completely flaked on Luke. Luke was seen waiting for Lorelai and genuinely seemed upset that she ghosted him. Especially when it was a big deal that he was even repainting his diner.

When Emily Realized She Didn't Know Her Daughter

For Rory's birthday, Emily wanted to throw her a party at their home. The only problem is that Emily didn't really know Rory all that well and invited everyone from Chilton that Rory despised. Rory had a miserable time.

The following day, Lorelai threw Rory a real party at her home and invited the Gilmores. They shockingly showed up and took it upon themselves to snoop around their daughter's home. But when Emily saw a picture of Lorelai in a full cast, she realized that she didn't know her daughter or her granddaughter at all. The look on her face was heartbreaking.

When Logan Tells Rory To Check Herself

Lorelai and Rory both come from family money thanks to Richard and Emily Gilmore, and later, Christopher. Although Lorelai was a single mother who didn't rely on anyone for the better of Rory, she did fall back on family money when it came to Rory's education and her own business.

Lorelai essentially taught Rory to loathe the privileged because of how they treated others. But what Rory didn't realize was that she was privileged. When she tried to distance her own life from Logan's, he put her in her place and reminded her that she too was a trust fund baby, went to a private high school, and attended an Ivy League institution. It was a moment that Rory needed to hear all her life.

When Emily Realized How Capable Her Daughter Was

Emily and Lorelai never gave each other the time of day when it came to their own problems. They both didn't communicate or listen well. But when Richard fell ill, Emily needed help on the business side of things. Luckily for her, her daughter was an independent business owner and knew exactly what needed to get done.

Emily watched her daughter in awe as she handled Richard's business. Emily complimented Lorelai on being independent and resilient. Those were words Lorelai wanted to hear from her mother her entire life.

When Luke Told Lorelai He Married Nicole

By the time Luke began dating Nicole, feelings were also growing between Luke and Lorelai. They always had this unexplainable bond. One night, Luke was helping Lorelai and they were catching up on his cruise. Luke was oddly quiet about his vacation, so naturally, Lorelai pressed for more information.

Suddenly, Luke admitted that he and Nicole got married on the cruise. When the camera panned to Lorelai, it looked like someone punched her in the gut and she lost all her air. It was so clear she liked Luke and that she now had no chance with him.

When Lorelai Wanted To "Hang" With Emily

In "Presenting Lorelai Gilmore," Emily was busy preparing Rory for her first Debutant Ball. Sadly, when she spoke to Richard about all of the charities and organizations on her plate, Richard couldn't have cared less. He insulted Emily and told her they were social engagements and not real work...

Emily was heartbroken. Lorelai realized that Emily didn't have anyone else. Without Richard, who else was the closest person to Emily? At the end of the episode, Lorelai showed up unannounced just to "hang" with her mom. Emily was confused why her daughter was there but enjoyed the company in a rare moment between the two.

Paris's Comfortability With Making Herself At Home

The amount of confidence Paris had was unmatched by any other character. She stayed true to herself, she followed her dreams, and she was confident in a sea of nervous college students.

One fan said one of the most underrated moments is how comfortable Paris makes herself in every situation. When Rory showed up at her grandparents' house to do a business project with Richard, Paris was already there and answered the door. "You're right on time, come on in," she said as if she lived there. It's times like those that fans miss Paris.

Jess & Paris's One Meeting

One of the biggest underrated moments in the series was when Paris and Jess met for the first time. It would be understandable if Paris despised Jess. After all, he was under-educated and unpolished.

Magically, the two got along perfectly. They ate takeout and talked about great works done by Jane Austin. It was times like this that fans wish they saw more of Paris and Jess together.

Emily & Lorelai's Spa Weekend

When Lorelai and Emily go away for a small getaway, both women were excited to unwind. However, it became increasingly clear that they had different ideas of what "unwinding" meant. Lorelai wanted to do the spa treatments and sit in silence. Emily, however, wanted to have more of a girls' weekend and chit-chat with her daughter.

When Lorelai finally exploded on her mother, Emily wondered why they couldn't have what she and Rory had... The realization and truth within the answer were incredibly awkward but memorable.
