Gilmore Girls' small town of Stars Hollow hosts a wide array of special events. It's a tourist attraction with numerous historical and seasonal activities for consistent entertainment.

While events like the Revolutionary War Reenactment and Twickham House Museum provide a history of Stars Hollow, The Winter Carnival and Spring Fling Festival merely give townspeople and visitors the excuse for a good time. All Gilmore Girls events are entertaining, but some are definitely better than others.

Battle Of Stars Hollow Reenactment

The townspeople follow in their founders' footsteps with a traditional reenactment of the legendary Battle of Stars Hollow. During this so-called battle, 12 men stood in the town square waiting for the Redcoats, who never showed up.

Dressing up as a soldier from the Revolutionary War with muskets in hand sounds like a great tradition. However, merely standing in a row all night doesn't seem like a good time. But a reenactment of a historical event pays homage to the small town, making it one of the best events.

End Of Summer Madness Festival

When Taylor decides that Stars Hollow's calendar isn't full enough, he adds a new festival. The End of Summer Madness Festival becomes that event in the season 3 premiere.

The event is difficult to dislike with a name like the End of Summer Madness Festival and a song like "Lazy-Hazy-Crazy-Days of Summer" on loop. And everyone likes one last summer hoorah.

Founders Firelight Festival

The Firelight Festival celebrates the founding of Stars Hollow. Miss Patty whips up and doles out her infamous Founders' Day punch for the event, known around town as "tar for your insides."

The event makes Stars Hollow unique and sets it apart from others. It also brings together the community in a unique way. And Miss Patty never fails to spice it up with her punch.

The Stars Hollow Movie Festival

The annual movie night is held in the town square. Each year, the townspeople view The Yearling. In one of Gilmore Girls' funniest storylines, Lorelei attempts to change the film one year. But after digging through a binder full of limited selections, she ends up choosing The Yearling.

Curling up in a blanket with some popcorn to watch a movie in the square is easily one of the best town events, especially for Lorelei and Rory, who love movies and food. Seeing the same movie year after year may be the only downside. But if Kirk debuts a bizarre short film each year, the viewing is definitely worth a visit.

Twickham House Museum

The Twickham House from gilmore Girls

After Mr. Twickham dies, Taylor informs the town that the older man left his home to the Stars Hollow Historical Society. He wants the beautiful dated house to become a museum with his various historical artifacts on display.

The museum ends up being a bit of a joke. A cannonball display through a hole in the floor (only seen with a flashlight) and a painting of the possible founder of a possible school that taught Ben Franklin's cousins might not be truly historical. It is entertaining, though, especially after a cup or two of Miss Patty's punch.

The Winter Carnival

The Winter Carnival features various fare booths hosted by the townspeople. Lorelei and Rory create a fortune teller booth in one of Paul Anka's most adorable moments on Gilmore Girls, where the furball makes predictions as the Amazing Doggy Swami.

Winter lovers like Lorelei bask in events such as the Winter Carnival. It's a fun experience to fill the void in January and bundling up with a cup of hot cocoa and getting a fortune reading from a cutie like Paul Anka is the perfect winter treat.

Spring Fling Festival

The hay bale maze in Gilmore Girls

In one of the fan-favorite parts of Gilmore Girls' season 7, Taylor pours the entire budget for the Spring Fling Festival into a town-wide hay bale maze. To everyone in town's surprise, the maze is fantastic and it turns out to be one of the town's unforeseen best events.

Mazes are fun to wander in and scary to get lost in. Gilmore Girls makes the maze incredibly fun with Babette and Morey's maze high and Zach memorizing the maze for deliveries. Traversing about the town through a maze in the fresh spring air would inevitably create a positive attitude.

Bid-On-A-Basket Festival

The basket auction is a pretty outdated event for charity. The lady's baskets, which are supposed to contain a picnic lunch, are auctioned off to the town's men. The men then take the lady who put the basket together out and eat said picnic lunch.

This event would best be presented in a different format nowadays. It should allow anyone to create a basket and anyone to bid on one, regardless of gender. If the town did it this way, the auction would be a great charity event and a fun way to meet and interact with others.

24-Hour Dance-A-Thon

The 24-hour dance marathon features a theme that requires participants to dress up. It features very few breaks and many rules that are continuously broken. Stars Hollow hosts the event with proceeds going to charity.

Though it features one of the saddest moments in season 3, the 24-hour Dance Marathon is one of the best events in Stars Hollow. It actually seems enjoyable for characters like Babette and Morey, who participate for fun and don't exhaust themselves to win. The marathon would be an excellent opportunity for dance lovers to dance their hearts out.

Festival Of Living Art

When Stars Hollow takes over the Festival of Living Art after Woodbury floods, everyone in town lights up with enthusiasm. The event stages recreations of famous art pieces with townspeople posing as the figures within the art.

Everyone in town's reaction to the show is an immediate indication of how great the event is. Dressing up and getting painted as a classic art figure is akin to performing in a play. The event sounds like an amazing opportunity to play a role in, as long as not moving isn't a problem.
