The father of Rory's baby in Gilmore Girls has finally been revealed by a costume supervisor. Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, Gilmore Girls followed the lives of the single mother Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and her intellectual teenage daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel) in the fictional small town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. After the show's initial run on The WB and The CW from 2000 to 2007, it returned in 2016 for a revival miniseries on Netflix subtitled A Year in the Life which ended with Rory informing her mother that she's pregnant but did not disclose the identity of the father.

Now, years after Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life ended on a cliffhanger, a costume supervisor has finally revealed who the father of Rory's baby is, and the answer is very obvious. Using basic math, Valerie Campbell rules out potential candidates like the forgettable Paul (Jack Carpenter) and the Wookiee that Rory had a one-night stand with before deducing that Logan Huntzberger (Matt Czuchry) is the father of Rory's baby. Campbell added that Sherman-Palladino doesn't understand why there has been a question who the father of Rory's baby is since the answer is supposed to be "very, very, very obvious."

"The only obvious choice is — you guessed it — Logan. If it was Paul, she would've had the baby in the Fall, if it was the Wookiee, she would've been about to burst."

The Father Of Rory's Baby Is Obvious After All

Gilmore Girls Rory's boyfriends

After years of questioning and theorizing who the father of Rory's baby is, the answer is obvious and shouldn't be the least bit surprising. In the four-episode revival, Rory continued seeing her former college boyfriend, Logan, while visiting London for work. Even though he is engaged to someone else, Rory and Logan agree on a no strings attached affair. Using nothing more than basic mathematics and knowledge of a pregnancy length, Campbell deduces that Logan has to be the father of Rory's baby.

Now that there is a definite answer to the father of Rory's baby, there could be a push for another Gilmore Girls continuation to deal with the ramifications of this reveal. Sherman-Palladino has always left the door open for another revival, saying the only obstacle is the availability of the cast, and even teasing that Rory having a baby would cause conflict with Lorelai. Sherman-Palladino's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is ending this year, so perhaps she could return to working on another Gilmore Girls revival, with potentially a little Gilmore girl added to the mix.
