Bailee Madison's Good Witch character, Grace, is a lot like Rory Gilmore. They're both a girl-next-door types who are bookworms and do really well in school.

Cassie's cousin Abigail (Sarah Power) arrives in Middleton at the beginning of the first season of Good Witch, and she and Cassie differ in terms of how they think that Grace should grow up. Lorelai is also famous for having issues with her parents on Gilmore Girls as they live a rich, privileged lifestyle and she wanted to walk away from that as soon as she learned that she was pregnant while still in high school.
It's fascinating to see how both series deal with the fact that sometimes, families can drive each other pretty crazy.
A Long-Term Romance And Wedding Drama
Cassie and Sam (James Denton) got married in season 5 of Good Witch, and this was a long time coming as fans had been waiting for them to tie the knot since forever.
This is also true of Luke and Lorelai on Gilmore Girls. They had a rocky road toward the altar and finally said "I do" at the end of the Netflix revival A Year In The Life. Fans definitely cheered for both romances — and shed some happy tears.

Just like fans have rooted for Luke and Lorelai, Good Witch viewers have wanted Cassie and Sam to finally be a family. Both Cassie and Lorelai know what it's like to raise a daughter on their own, and they know the challenges involved.
